Action for the River Kennet (ARK)
Action for the River Kennet (ARK) is a local charity that helps look after the River Kennet and its tributaries including the River Lambourn.

Our part of the River Lambourn which dries up most years is called a winterbourne. As well as a report on the village's dredging incident from 2018, ARK's Spring 2019 newsletter has an interesting article about the importance of winterbournes, describing them as 'the powerhouse of our chalkstreams'.

Anna Forbes from ARK is coming to East Garston this Thursday 27 January.  Anna will be here from 1.15pm and is happy to give advice on how to look after the stream and keep the riverbank as wildlife friendly as possible. If you would like to talk to Anna while she is in the village please contact her at anna@riverkennet.org
