2021 North Atlantic Right Whale Report Card

The 2021 North Atlantic Right Whale Report Card has been posted to the NAWRC website. Previous reports are available on the website as well.

NAWRC 2021 Annual Meetings

The 2021 NARWC Annual Meeting and 2021 Ropeless Meeting sites will remain open to registered participants through 01/31/2022. We extended the site availability to give those impacted by power outages and other issues during and following the meeting the opportunity to watch presentations they may have missed.

Once the meeting sites close, meeting materials will migrate to the NARWC and Ropeless websites.

Discussions regarding the 2022 meetings are underway. While we aim to be in person, it will be some time before we are able to make a final determination on location (if in person) and what virtual options may look like. We will update both the NAWRC and Ropeless websites with information as it becomes available.

NARWC Board Elections

The NARWC Board elections got a bit lost in the shuffle of the Annual Meetings and year end activities. As such, we've extended the nomination deadline.

We are currently accepting nominations for four general NARWC Board positions, each carrying a 3 year term. Board member responsibilities include reviewing data access requests, Annual Meeting preparation, and other activities that move forward right whale conservation, research, education and management efforts. Considerations for a balanced Board (expertise, regional and institutional representation, etc.) should be made and nominees should be active Consortium members. We have extended the deadline for nomination to 5pm ET, Friday, February 4th. Of the Board members cycling off this year, Angelia Vanderlaan is eligible for re-election.
