GENE Bi-weekly Announcements

Bi-weekly General Engineering announcements aim to provide information relevant to General Engineering students every odd week of classes plus finals week (1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, Finals). If you have a club event, available internship or any other announcement that you would like included in the GENE Bi-weekly announcements, please e-mail gene@calpoly.edu.

A Note from the GENE Director, Dr. Thompson . . .

We have had a rough start with so many of us impacted by COVID. I hope you are taking care of yourselves and maintaining important connections to each other through this time. Please let me know if you need any assistance with courses, basic needs, or just a friendly chat.

My office hours this quarter are

In person Winter office hours (Beginning 1/3/22) Tuesday 2-4,

Zoom office hours (Beginning 1/3/22) Thursday 12-2
https://calpoly.zoom.us/j/2582701469

I am also available by appointment either in person or via zoom.

I also want to remind you to complete your ICS form as soon as you can. I would like everyone to have a form on file by the beginning of their sophomore year so you can be confident that the course you choose will count toward your degree. Also when you update your ICS, your Degree Progress Report (DPR) will reflect these course. I know sometimes creating the ICS feels overwhelming, but I am here to help you get started or advise you while you complete it.

Best

Dr. Liz Thompson
