2022 DPSJC Pre-Primary Convention

Official Call

Pursuant to the official Call for the Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) 2022 State Pre-Primary Election Nominating Convention, the Democratic Party of San Juan County issues this Call to the 2022 DPSJC Pre-Primary Nominating Convention. We are required by DPNM Rules to hold elections in even-numbered years for the purpose of electing delegates who will vote at the state party pre-primary election nominating convention. This year, San Juan County Democrats will be electing 28 delegates. SCC members are automatic delegates.

The San Juan County Pre-Primary Convention will be a hybrid in-person & virtual convention.

The in-person convention will take place on February 5, 2022 at 2:00PM at Sycamore Community Center Gymnasium in Farmington, NM.

All voting will take place virtually, and will begin when the in-person convention ends  on February 5, 2022. Participants do not need to appear at the in-person convention to be eligible to vote or be elected.

San Juan County Democrats may pre-register to participate online OR may register in-person on February 5.

Due to the  COVID-19 pandemic, it is possible that some details of the Pre-Primary Convention may change. Further details, including links for registration, will be provided soon. DPSJC will need willing volunteers to help ensure that our nominating process goes smoothly- please contact us at info@sanjuandems.org to help.

DAILY TIMES: Proposed teacher raises would make New Mexico competitive

SANTA FE - New Mexico wants to attract more teachers as part of a government-wide spending spree fueled by taxes from surging oil and gas revenues.

"They're going to be the highest-paid individuals in any state near us," Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico teachers in a call with educators on Friday.

Lujan Grisham is proposing increases in the minimum pay for teachers across three tiers of experience levels. Minimum salaries for entry-level teachers would increase from $41,000 to $50,000. That would make starting teachers the highest paid in the region unless other states raise wages before the fall.

In Texas, for example, starting salaries average around $44,500.

CLUB10

CLUB10 is our generous team of donors who make a monthly contribution to DPSJC through our ActBlue page.  2022 is going to be a huge political year in New Mexico- we have the opportunity to win four more years of steady, progressive leadership- or we could lose the Governor's race to a Republican. San Juan Dems are ready to do the work it takes to win, but we need you to join Club 10.
