OUAB Wellness Wednesday: The Weight of Stigma in Diet Culture

Hosted by the Ohio Union Activities Board. Weight stigma is a pervasive issue that affects people of all shapes and sizes, particularly people in larger bodies. This interactive presentation will explore factors that contribute to weight bias and its harmful effects, myths around Body Mass Index and weight loss, and how movements like Health At Every Size and Intuitive Eating improve health outcomes from a holistic approach.

Diversifying the Teacher Workforce

Part of the Educational Leadership Webinar Series: Leading Beyond COVID. This webinar will focus on the recent call to action from states and school districts across Ohio and the nation to diversify the teacher workforce. The session will feature a panel composed of researchers, policy makers, and educators to offer multiple perspectives on this issue. Panelists will share data, identify barriers and possible solutions, and explore promising practices and models, such as developing pipelines, grow-your-own initiatives, and student incentives. Facilitated by Dr. John Marschhausen (Superintendent in Residence, College of Education and Human Ecology, and Chief Executive Officer, Dublin City Schools) and Dr. Melvin Brown (Superintendent in Residence, College of Education and Human Ecology, and Superintendent, Reynoldsburg City Schools).

OUAB Grad/Prof Quiz Night

Hosted by the Ohio Union Activities Board. Join us as grad/prof students get together for a night of trivia and fun! Pre-arranged and impromptu-created teams compete in a night of trivia. Prizes are awarded to the top team of the evening. Check in begins at 6:30 p.m.  First question begins at 7 p.m. All teams must register for each quiz night. Please visit ouab.osu.edu/grad-prof/social-engagement-programs/quiz-night for more information on how to register. Teams may include up to 50% non-student guests. Due to overwhelming popularity, registrations the day of the event may not be available. Check out the website for fuller details. The registration period for a quiz night begins at the conclusion of the previous quiz night.
