Spring 2022 Upcoming Important Dates

You're Invited to Chat with the Chair

You’re invited to join Dr. Lori Patton Davis, Chair of the Department of Educational Studies, for our Chat with the Chair on Thursday, January 20 at 4 p.m. on Zoom. This is an open forum for you to bring up any topics you would like to discuss. As we begin the spring semester, we want to make sure you have the chance to let us know how the department can best support our students.

Submit Your SP22 Graduation Application

If you are planning to graduate in Spring 2022, now is the time to apply for graduation. All applications for graduation are due by Friday, January 28 in GRADFORMS.

EHE GA Application Now Open

We are currently accepting applications for Graduate Associate (GA) positions for the 22-23 academic year, and you can find the online application on the EHE GA Website. Applications are due February 1 at 11:59 p.m.

EHE Graduate Scholarship Applications Now Open

The College of Education and Human Ecology awards scholarships each year to graduate students enrolled in, or plan on enrolling in a degree program in the college. Grad student scholarship applications are open now and will be due March 1.

Congrats to our Fulbright Fellows in Ed Studies!

A record number of Fulbright Fellows from countries around the world have chosen to study with the College of Education and Human Ecology this year, including three Ed Studies Students.

EHE Dissertation Apps Due January 21

The College of Education and Human Ecology, in partnership with the Graduate Studies Committee in each department, awards graduate dissertation research fellowships each academic year, based on availability of funds. The intent of the Dissertation Fellowships is to support outstanding students in the completion of their programs, by allowing them to focus on their dissertation research.

Black Excellence in Educational Studies

We will be celebrating Black Excellence in Ed Studies during the first week of February and throughout the month. We are looking to highlight the many accomplishments of our Black faculty, staff, and students during this time. CETE seeking equity-focused research position

The Center on Education and Training for Employment is currently seeking a temporary full-time researcher that focuses on diversity, equity, and fairness in testing. The position is labeled as a post-doctoral researcher, but we will happily consider ABD students with a research background in equity and inclusion. Questions? Contact Bridget McHugh.

Applications Open for the 62nd Student Life Leadership Awards

Applications are NOW OPEN for the 62nd Student Life Leadership Awards, to be hosted on April 8, 2022! Applications and nominations close on January 31, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Applicants do not need to hold a formal leadership position within a student organization to be eligible for an award. As there is no one perfect example of a leader, we invite people across different identity groups, backgrounds, and collaborative leadership experiences to apply. Individual award descriptions and past recipients can be viewed at go.osu.edu/leadershipawards. Ethel Louise Armstrong Student Poster Competitions

Consider submitting proposal for a concurrent session at the twenty-second annual Multiple Perspectives On Access, Inclusion & Disability, held on April 11 during the Multiple Perspectives conference at The Ohio State University’s Columbus Campus. The Multiple Perspectives conference encourages students to network with professionals, the community, and scholars who share their interests in disability at its annual student poster reception.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Virtual Competition

The College of Education & Human Ecology wants to highlight the brilliant work of our graduate students. Please consider submitting an application for the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Interested graduate students can review the guidelines shared by the Graduate School and submit an application/video through this EHE Qualtrics Form by Monday, January 24. One nominee from our College’s internal competition will advance to the Graduate School competition. Then the Ohio State University finalist will advance to the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) virtual competition. Questions can be sent to Nicole Luthy.

Apply to be Ohio State’s next student trustee

The application is available online for any graduate/professional students who are interested in serving as the University Board of Trustees’ next student representative. Applications are due electronically by Jan. 21. As voting members of the board, student trustees must demonstrate excellent leadership skills and be able to think strategically about the future of the university. If this sounds like you — and you are an Ohio resident who will attend Ohio State through at least May 2024 — then you are encouraged to apply.
