It is that time of year.  We are looking to our membership to step forward and volunteer to be part of the elected board of NCHIMA for 2022-2023.  This year we are looking for nominations in the following areas:
  • President Elect – 3-year term (President, Past President, also serves as a Delegate all three years of the term) View job description
  • Delegate – 2-year term – This person is our legal, advocacy and HIM awareness leader. View job description

NCHIMA recognizes outstanding contributions made by its members every year. The process to nominate is very simple through NCHIMA’s website. The link will give a description of each individual award.  Awards | NCHIMA.

NCHIMA is soliciting nominations for the following categories:
  • Distinguished Member Award
  • Prism (Volunteer of the Year) Award
  • Spotlight Award
  • Special Regional Member Award
  • MaryBeth Hurst Award
  • Honorary Member Award
  • Foster Award

Nominations will be open from November 19th – February 28th.

NCHIMA Spotlight

NCHIMA is excited to spotlight some of our phenomenal Program Chairs, Faculty, Clinical Sites, NCHIMA Committee/Volunteers, New Graduates and Newly Credentialed Members in 2022! Do you know an exceptional North Carolina Health Information Professional that falls into one of these categories and deserves to be recognized? If so, we want to hear from you!! Email, president@nchima.org with the "spotlight" by providing their name/credential(s), job title and location, answers to the questions from the specific category of the spotlight and a picture! We will be highlighting these leaders in our Friday e-Alerts! Looking forward to celebrating our amazing profession in 2022!

Program Chairs:

  • What drew you to a career in HIT/HIM?

  • What do you do to stay up to date in the profession?
 
Clinical Sites:
  • Why do you serve as a clinical site for students?
  • What 3 things do you look for most in an HIT/HIM graduate/new employee?
  • What do HIT students/new graduates bring to the clinical sites/employers?
  • Why is the clinical experience so important for students?
  • What is the most important thing you hope to give HIT/HIM students?
 
NCHIMA Committee/Volunteers:
  • How did you first get involved with NCHIMA?
  • Why is it important to volunteer/be involved with NCHIMA?
  • Has your involvement in NCHIMA opened doors for you that wouldn't have been opened otherwise?
  • Why should students/new graduates get involved?
  • What would you suggest would be their first step in volunteering?

New Graduates/Newly Credentialed Members:
