🌳Last week we shared Evergrey readers’ Seattle bucket lists for 2022 along with a Washington bucket list of our own. Thanks to the SeattlePI, there’s now 25 more must-see places to add to those lists. You can hike a mountain on Orcas Island, go fishing at Ilwaco, sip wine in Walla Walla, and so much more. Whether you're more of a museum wanderer or an outdoor explorer, there’s something new to try for every Washingtonian. (SeattlePI)

🎸 Longrunning Seattle music festival Bumbershoot has a new organizer. Neumos co-owner Steven Severin, artist/entrepreneur Greg Lundgren, and longtime concert promoter Joe Paganelli will now be running the show. The group, also known under the name New Rising Sun, is hoping to bring Bumbershoot back in full force come 2023. There’s also plans to extend the brand with festivities set throughout the year rather than just a three-day event. The new owners are also hoping to make tickets cheaper, which we have all our fingers and toes crossed for. (Seattle Times)

📄 Recent analysis of a State Patrol report shows that instances of disproportionate bias by state troopers hasn’t changed much since 2019. A study was originally conducted by State Patrol and Washington State University researchers in 2019, but new analysis shows that many of the “disturbing” results from the initial findings still persist. State troopers are still more likely to search Black, Latino, Native American and Pacific Islander drivers, although white drivers are more often found with contraband like weapons and drugs. WSU says they will conduct focus groups around Washington to better understand the disparities shown in the report. (Crosscut)

🏠 Seattle’s eviction moratorium has been extended until Feb. 14. On Wednesday, Mayor Bruce Harrell announced the new end date as a 30-day extension from the previous Jan. 15 deadline. Harrell cited the uncertainty caused by the surge in Omicron cases as a primary motivator for the extension. Local organizations have urged officials to ditch the repeated periods of short extensions that have been enacted throughout the pandemic and permanently extend the moratorium locally and statewide. (The Urbanist)

From Friday to Saturday you can enjoy the 7 Summits Imperial IPA Event at Summit Brewing in Snohomish. For $20 you’ll receive seven 4oz pours and a 16oz specialty glass. 

📽️ Watch: One of the awesome things about our city is the films you can see on any random Saturday. You’ll find everything from Saturday Secret Matinees at the Grand Illusion Cinema to a series of banned films at SIFF. But if you’re looking for a classic and heartwarming way to spend your Friday night, go watch Kiki’s Delivery Service at the Central Cinema, a favorite by director Hayao Miyazaki.

🍴Eat: Saturday is National Bagel Day, and I have a few places in mind you can celebrate. My personal favorite is Zylberschtein’s, a bakery and deli in the Pinehurst neighborhood of North Seattle. They have an incredible selection of goodies, but their bagels are especially delicious. And if you join their bagel club, you can get a weekly, biweekly or monthly delivery of both bagels and cream cheese, saving time and money along the way.
