Update #23: CDPH Mask Mandate Extention

January 14, 2022

Dear OCCBSA Family and Friends,

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has extended the mandate requiring masks to be worn in all indoor public settings, irrespective of vaccine status, through February 15, 2022  [surgical masks or higher-level respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, KF94s) with good fit are recommended].

Just as when the mandate went into effect in December, this does not substantially change what our policy for masking has been since the summer, nor do we anticipate it to change at the end of the updated state mandate. We will continue to follow CDPH Guidelines for face Coverings as it relates to participation in our programs.

Thank you again for your partnership, flexibility, and patience as we navigate this challenging and unprecedented chapter in our lives together. As we have since the onset of COVID-19, we will continue to monitor this situation closely and inform you of the guidance of our governing health agencies.

As a reminder, OCBSA will only send updates to our COVID policy when the California Department of Public Health updates their recommendations relating to Supervised Youth Activities.

For any further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the COVID helpline by email at covid@ocbsa.org
