Stakeholder Spotlight on Frederic Langlois of Québec Government Office in New York |
|
|
ECC's Stakeholder Spotlight series features our clean transportation stakeholders, showcasing their roles in clean energy advocacy, acceleration and adoption.
Meet Frederic Langlois, Transportation and Energy Attaché at the Québec Government Office in New York!
The Québec Government Office in New York is Québec’s primary representation in the United States. The Office promotes the interests of Québec in the following sectors: business, investment, government institutions, education, culture, and public affairs. Inaugurated in 1940, the Office is based in New York but serves the entire Mid-Atlantic region.
How does Frederic think the region's transportation landscape will change in the next decade—and what role does he think the Québec Government Office in New York will play in that transformation?
"Considering the different measures being taken by the State and the City of New York, to tackle climate change and the reduction of GHG emissions, notably in the transportation sector, I am optimistic for the next decade and the solutions that will be developed. The New York City landscape will inevitably change, with major infrastructure projects currently underway and major investments in the urban mobility sector.
"Although Québec does not build cars, our businesses provide solutions that integrate the automotive value chain (EV batteries, critical and strategic minerals, EV charging stations), and are world- leaders in the field of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, refuse trucks, bucket trucks, ambulances, and more."
Thanks Frederic! Be sure to check out Québec Government Office in New York's critical work on their website and follow them on LinkedIn!
