Announcements
UPDATED: UConn 4-H COVID-19 Guidelines
UConn highly recommends that all 4-H programming move to a virtual format through January 31st due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.
If meeting in person, all of the following steps must be followed:
1) Everyone present must be social distanced and masked at all times.
2) High touch surfaces must be wiped down.
3) No food or drink may be consumed as part of the event.
4) A safety plan MUST be submitted to the 4-H office for approval prior to in-person 4-H activities. Post activity, a complete list of attendees (speakers, youth, volunteers, adults, family members) must be emailed to the 4-H Office promptly to aid in any contact tracing. 4-H Volunteers need to be willing to assist in contact tracing as requested by 4-H Office.
5) All local, state and UConn guidelines must be adhered to.
Where possible events should take place outdoors. Please email the 4-H Office prior to planning activities to obtain updates on current restrictions.
Completed form must be received at the 4-H office prior to 4-H activity. Where the plan asks for a faculty or staff member, you as a registered 4-H volunteer may list your name. You are encouraged to work with 4-Hers to complete the form.
------------------------------------------------------------------
In-Person Activities During COVID-19
REMINDER ALL IN-PERSON 4-H ACTIVITIES MUST SUBMIT A SAFETY PLAN TO THE 4-H OFFICE PRIOR TO EVENT.
All 4-H activities must adhere to UConn rules as well as those of local and state guidelines.
Indoors: Six foot spacing; masks are required.
Outdoor Masking Update:
Mask wearing outdoors is no longer required per UConn and State of CT. However, if close proximity to people may occur and with uncertainty of vaccination status of those around you, the wearing of masks is highly recommended, especially for the unvaccinated. No one may ask anyone if they are vaccinated.
All activities must still adhere to any additional local health department restrictions.
*Please email the 4-H Office prior to planning activities to obtain updates on current restrictions.
UConn Extension has developed a safety plan. This document references various aspects of planning that you need to be cognizant of as you re-engage in face-to-face programming. Where the plan asks for a faculty or staff member, you as a registered 4-H volunteer may list your name. You are encouraged to work with 4-Hers to complete the form.
A completed copy of this form needs to be submitted to the 4-H Office and kept on file with each club/4-H group in case there is a positive COVID case. Please note it is critical that a list of all individuals present are recorded on an attendance sheet. This includes all speakers, family members, volunteers, etc. in attendance. Attendance lists are to be emailed to the 4-H Office post event.
