Back in childhood,
I wanted so much to be accepted, belonged.
To be naturally invited, included, appreciated,
acknowledged for my talents and for the beautiful, attentive, wise and loving person I knew I am.

|
Lying in bed at night, before falling asleep,
I would slide into a sweet future day,
when the real me is finally emerging from the rejected, excluded, girl I felt I was,
light, worthy, lovable,
and naturally and warmly welcomed and embraced by the other kids.
What a confirming, blissful, feeling...
I tried to blend in in so many ways... Some of them are so embarrassing,
that even these days I'm still processing, learning to understand and accept,
to find compassion and empathy for this little desperate girl,
knowing that this is what it was - I just did the best I knew at the time.
And to be fully honest, it's still challenging sometimes.
As much as I want so much to finally and truly hug and love her.
And there is another thing I know today.
That this continuous, repeating struggle for attention and acceptance -
all the begging, pleasing, manipulations, ignoring, kicking,
doing anything to be missed and wanted -
is actually a very early childhood experience playing itself out.
The age of three event I'm telling about
at the beginning of the Transform Family Relationships meetup,
is the result of that experience.
And that the more I settle and heal the internal and external dynamics
with my parents and family, that I've been tied up in,
the more my unconscious survival system, my inner wounded child,
gets free - kind of 'gets a sincere permission' -
to be loved, included and welcomed naturally, like I always dreamed,
accepted just by being me.
I’m going to virtually host the meetup again,
