Dear Friend,

It's been a bustling, challenging, exhilarating few months at Raintree, and we are so glad to be back with another issue of our e-newsletter. From witnessing some amazing recoveries and happy adoptions to meeting the bravest canine blood donors and patients, it truly is a joy and privilege to be able to do what we do.

As we continue scaling our efforts through our new petcare boutique store, Raintree Essentia, and continue to implement year-round offers in our mission to make honest, responsible petcare more accessible, we have made the decision to send you our e-newsletters quarterly to avoid potentially cluttering your inbox (we know what it's like to receive those too-frequent emails). We'd love to hear your feedback on how to improve the way we communicate with you, so please feel free to reply to this email if you have any suggestions, would like to opt out of our Essentia offer updates, or would just like to say hi -- you know that always makes our day!

As always, our love for our patients is the driving force behind every effort, every long shift, and every decision we make here at Raintree. Thank you for entrusting your little ones to our care!

With love,
Team Raintree

Unbreakable Spirits!
From Querido, the Yorkie puppy who swallowed a chunk of floor tile, Dexter, the senior dog who came to us with a GDV (and a massive tumour that was discovered during surgery!), Joy, the brave Dachshund girl who started walking only a few hours after emergency surgery, and the unbreakable spirits of animals like Django and Hulk, watching our patients recover and defeat the most debilitating of conditions truly is the most rewarding experience for us.
Here are some memorable recovery tales from January through March!
Hulk was rushed to us with six different injuries. Here's how this brave dog overcame every single one of them!
From vomiting 30-40 times a day to being happy, healthy and whole again... here's Django's amazing recovery story!

It may not seem like an obvious connection at first, but did you know that oral health is directly linked to overall health? If left untreated, bacteria introduced by periodontal disease can enter your pet's bloodstream and affect their vital organs. Thankfully, this can be prevented with regular dental checkups and good oral healthcare at home.

We generally recommend regular veterinary health checkups twice a year (senior dogs need checkups every 3 months). Depending on your pet's age and medical history, your primary vet will be the best person to advise you on the frequency of these checkups and dental cleanings. And while vet-approved dental chews and wipes can be helpful, there is no replacement for regular brushing with a soft-bristled toothbrush and pet-specific toothpaste.

Feel free to screenshot/download our handy posters to help spread awareness about maintaining a healthy oral care routine (this applies to all kinds of small animal pets).

Superdogs to the Rescue!
Given that we also function as a 24-hour emergency clinic, we often encounter cases where we need urgent blood transfusions. That's where our Raintree Superdogs save the day: Thanks to brave blood donors like Zoey and Buzz, we were able to administer blood transfusions in time and save patients like Zorro, who came to us for a simple scan but ended up needing emergency surgery on the day.

We are always in need of blood donors, so if your pet is healthy, has never had tick fever, and weighs at least 25 kgs, please consider signing up to join our Volunteer Canine Blood Donor list!

Rehabilitative Therapies at Raintree

Did you know that in addition to general physiotherapy, our rehabilitation and pain management therapies also include hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and gentle neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) therapy?

For instance, when Sophie came to us suffering from recurring pain and weakness in her limbs, Dr. Leila curated a dedicated rehabilitation plan for her including acupuncture and NMES sessions, and this senior girl's mobility and pain levels have improved as a result. Combining veterinary medicine with alternative rehabilitative therapies has proven to reverse some of the most drastic conditions (such as Slinky's paralysis), and we love being able to provide holistic solutions for our patients.

It's only April, and Pune is heating up to record temperatures! A refreshing swim can not only help your pet de-stress and have a memorable day out, but it can also be a great way to bond and burn off excess energy. We receive several messages asking if our pool is restricted to hydrotherapy patients only, and the answer to that is perhaps best given by one of our frequent pool visitors!
When We Say We're a
 Multi-Species Clinic...
The last three months have seen patients both big and small, furry and feathered, finding their way to Raintree and leaving their imprints on our hearts. From caring for a severely arthritic pig to nursing little birds back to health, extracting eye worms from a horse's eye and treating a young horse who was rushed to us all the way from Satara, it truly is a blessing and privilege to be able to treat so many different kinds of birds and animals. Thank you for making this possible for our team!
Mystery Discounts at Your Favourite New Pet Store!
Have you been to our brand new store yet? We hope to build a welcoming space for both people and pets alike, so whether you're here for a quick consult with our canine behaviorist, some delicious coffee or snacks while your pet is being looked after by our vets next door, or a luxury shopping spree for your little ones, we're happy to have you!

Starting this month, we are also offering some exciting discounts on mystery products -- you won't know what's on offer until you walk in (or are led by your pet's discerning nose!). So come on down to Raintree Essentia for a fun and fulfilling shopping experience.
