This Man is Different

Grace to you and Peace in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

This Man, Jesus, his is different! He is not like any other man, nor is he like any of the mythical gods of legend.  There is something about him, he is God made flesh and the Son of Man.  He is different! This week we discussed Jesus's first miracle of turning water to wine.  I will admit that this miracle has always been a struggle for me, because it would seem that this miracle is frivolous; that Jesus is actually glorifying gluttonous partying and alcoholism.  But this miracle is so much more than that.  The host had fallen short on their duties to provide for the guests and this would have threatened the stop of joy in the moment.  However, Mary knew something the rest of the world did not, that what they needed in the moment was Jesus.  Jesus turned water into wine and saved the host from himself and from his inevitable shame, and Jesus made sure that joy would continue.  This shows us that Jesus is the source of all life, joy, and restoration.  Jesus will save us from our very selves if we need it. We just have to follow his instruction.  This miracle was just a glimpse of the glory in Jesus.

Peace and Blessings,
