Self-Care and Wellbeing: Exploring Wellness Tips for Returning to Campus 2021-22 Anti-O Convos: Hot Topics

Join the UTM EDI Office and Hart House for the 2021-22 Anti-O Convos: Hot Topics series. Randi-Mae Stanford-Leibold will lead a conversation about Self-Care and Wellbeing: Exploring Wellness Tips for Returning to Campus. Randi-Mae is a mindfulness and meditation teacher, speaker, counsellor, author, and wellness facilitator. The session will seek to share wellness tips for students, staff, faculty and librarians who identify as BIPOC, and how to improve self-care practices. All University of Toronto community members are invited to attend.
 
This session is open to all U of T students, staff, faculty and librarians. *Please note, only those with utoronto emails, i.e. utoronto.ca, mail.utoronto.ca, will be able to join this online session. We recommend that you create a U of T Zoom account. Register here

Impact of evolving technology and privacy laws in higher education

Jan. 28 is Data Privacy Day. As part of the Data Privacy Day campaign, U of T’s Information Technology Services (ITS) division is hosting a one-hour virtual panel event. Attendees will hear from subject matter experts from legal, cyber security and privacy sectors and have the opportunity to ask questions in a live Q&A session.

Call for IMS Scientific Day Keynote Speaker Suggestions 
 

Dear IMS Community,

We would love your input for this year’s Bernard Langer Annual Lecture in Health Sciences. Each year a guest speaker is invited to give a talk at IMS Scientific Day who is internationally recognized for their scientific contributions and is also known to be an excellent role model and mentor for graduate students. We welcome your suggestions on either keynote speakers or research topics. Please send your ideas to ims.scientificday@utoronto.ca by January 31.

IMSSA 3-Minute Thesis Competition

Calling all IMS MSc and PhD students! Are you interested in showcasing your graduate research while developing your science communication skills? This is your opportunity to take part in a one-of-a-kind competition, the 3-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT)! The 3MT is a globally held competition that challenges students to present their research in 3 minutes using 1 slide to a lay audience. Students at all levels are welcome to participate and develop their science communication skills. Also, there are several cash prizes to be won!
