Mijn flexibiliteits-spieren zijn inmiddels flink getraind, want weer loopt alles anders dan gepland.
De tentoonstelling in het Haagse Atrium wordt verplaatst naar een later moment, maar de overdracht van bijna €50.000 aan TreeSisters gaat aanstaande zaterdag wél door!
Dit voorjaar is het geborduurde bos weer te zien, in het Van Eesteren Museum in Amsterdam Nieuw West. Dat is op loopafstand van The Beach, het social design atelier waar in de zomer van 2020 duizenden steekjes werden gezet op het doek.
Nostalgisch word ik ervan. Gewoon een dagje zitten borduren, zoals hierboven afgelopen zomer, dáár verlang ik nou naar :-).
Exact twee jaar na de eerste steek van het geborduurde bos dragen we de ingezamelde donaties voor de 99.000 bomen over. Dat doen we in een feestelijke ceremonie met de mensen van TreeSisters. Hierboven sprak oprichter Clare Dubois vorig jaar haar dank al uit aan allen die hebben bijgedragen.
De viering is geheel online, wat echt jammer is, maar het belooft toch een bijzondere bijeenkomst te worden. Ben jij erbij? Meld je aan door een mail te sturen. Je krijgt de link dan eind van de week.

The exhibition in the Atrium in The Hague will be moved to a later date this year, but the transfer of almost €50,000 to TreeSisters will take place this Saturday!
The embroidered forest can be seen again this spring, in the Van Eesteren Museum in Amsterdam Nieuw West. That is within walking distance of The Beach, the social design studio where thousands of stitches were put on the canvas in the summer of 2020.
It makes me nostalgic. Just sit and embroider for a day, as above last summer, that's what I long for :-).

Exactly two years after the first stitch of the embroidered forest, we are handing over the collected donations for the 99,000 trees. We do this in a festive ceremony with the people of TreeSisters. Above, founder Clare Dubois expressed her gratitude to all who contributed last year.
