Welcome YHS Crew Alumni

Hello! We are working to establish a connected network of YHS Crew Alumni - help us spread the word to friends, alumni families, and former teammates! We'll be sending periodic newsletters to keep folks updated on what's happening and to help alumni connect. If you don't already, follow the team on social media:

Spring season is coming

Winter conditioning is well underway with over 100 new and returning rowers - all doing covid testing daily at school. The team is making full use of the ergs and couldn't be more excited for those 2Ks during tryouts the week of February 21. Ack! But after a 2-year hiatus, the team actually IS super excited about returning to Camp Bob over Spring Break in April!

Meet the head coaches

Lucy Ayers

Lucy Ayers is our women’s varsity head coach. Lucy rowed at New York University where she was the captain and MVP. At NYU, she rowed in the women’s pair, earning silver medals at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta (2011) and the New York State Collegiate Championships (2014).

Gabe Colmenarez Fuentes

Gabriel rowed for all 4 years at Lake Braddock High School. Participated in programs such as Northern Virginia Rowing Club and Resilient Rowing. Gabriel attended school at Stetson University and rowed D1 for a part of his time there.

The team is seeking additional coaches. If you know former graduate rowers who are in the area and interested in coaching, please invite them to send an email to
