Sign Up to Help Re-Plant the Pollinator Corridor

Image of a pollinator corridor with text, "Volunteer for the Multnomah Pollinator Corridor Planting Day. Date: Thursday, February 24th 2022, 9am to 12pm The Pollinator Corridor turns concrete planters on NE Multnomah St. into bustling habitats for insects & birds through the use of native, drought-resident perennials."
Come help us and the Lloyd Community Association to green the Multnomah Street Planters! Learn about pollinators, native perennial plants, and local ecology on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Get your hands dirty while you help beautify our neighborhood, protect pollinator species and habitat, and improve street safety. Along NE Multnomah St. from NE 2nd to NE 15 exist 34 large concrete planters, creating a protected pollinator corridor bikeway across the Lloyd. Community partners installed the planters and planted native/hardy pollinator plants between 2016 & 2018. While many of the planters are filled with flowering pollinator species, some of the planters need to now be supplemented with a variety of native species. All planting supplies will be provided, but please come wearing a face covering, closed-toed shoes, a filled reusable water bottle, and gloves. Lloyd Event Parking District Survey
PBOT has proposed a new Event Parking District in Lloyd and wants your input. This would set higher parking rates during events with over 10,000 people. Districts like these encourage less driving and more use of transit, biking, and other transportation options. This reduces traffic and makes it easier for people who live or work in the area to find parking. Take their survey by February 6 to be entered to win a $25 Fred Meyer gift card.

EcoDistricts Joining
Partnership for Southern Equity

Lloyd EcoDistrict is excited to hear that the EcoDistricts, the organization behind the EcoDistrict Protocol, is becoming part of the Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE). PSE advances policies and institutional actions that promote racial equity and shared prosperity for all in the growth of metropolitan Atlanta and the American South. The acquisition will help PSE expand its Just Growth programming and community engagement platform – with a clear focus on centering sustainable urban growth through racial equity. Over the coming year, PSE, EcoDistricts, and a committee of national experts will work together through an inclusive design and planning process to combine programming, local power building, and fee-for-service consulting opportunities to support a growing number of communities that are looking to integrate equity and sustainability into neighborhood and district scale redevelopment (like Lloyd EcoDistrict). On January 26, at 10 AM PST, Nathaniel Smith, PSE’s dynamic founder and Chief Equity Officer, and Rob Bennett, founder of EcoDistricts, will be hosting a roundtable with Ryan Gravel and Julian Agyeman to discuss the acquisition and the future of just growth at a pivotal time in our country’s history.
