Hey <<First Name>> are you using email in your business?

During the Soar Collective last month we went deep on email marketing.

And not just the tech of setting up our opt in, welcome email and nurture emails. Sure we developed a workflow that we figured would work for our customers/clients but we also committed to each other to review and tweak the process on a regular basis, because like most things in business it's not a set and forget task.

What I strived to get across was the reason we build a list.

I bet you have had a business coach tell you YOU NEED A LIST!!

But what no one tells you is you need to commit to that list 😲 4EVA 🤯

There's no point even starting a list if you are not going to communicate with subscribers, on a regular ongoing basis, because no one is going to buy from you if all you do is send them an email that says BUY BUY BUY, never to be heard from again; that is until the next BUY BUY BUY email.

The reason we build a list, is to build a community that we (want to) work with.

For the same reason we offer a simple, smart lead magnet to get people to sign up in the first place. Your lead magnet lets your ideal clients know that you get them and you want to make their life a little bit easier.

From there your nurture sequence of emails does the little dance 💃🕺 between them getting to know you better and you letting them know you can help them.

Then it's a matter of communicating with them, regularly. Some coaches will say you need to be emailing at a minimum of 3-5 times per week - I don't know too many small business owners that have time for that, and after chatting with my network many will reach for the unsubscribe button if the emails are filling their inbox.

What I do recommend to my clients is to commit to a monthly email before changing or upping the frequency.

I've also seen clients buying all the bells, whistles, courses, programs and apps… all with the intention of growing their list, only to do nothing.

In the early stages of your business, free programs can get you started and the more manual automation's may ask time and effort of you, but it will put you closer to your clients/customers.

Having a list is great but its about the consistency, the communication and increasing the depth of the connection.

That’s what’s key.

Til next time

Sharon
