PfHU operates in rural Uganda at Kititi village and its surrounding area with a special focus on improving educational opportunities, nutrition and medical care to underprivileged children.

The charity relies entirely on the work of volunteers so that all funds raised go directly to the community in Uganda.

It has been a difficult time and we are only cautiously putting on fund raising activities that involve groups of people indoors.
Postponement of fund raising events
We feel it is still too early to go ahead with some of our planned events.

So sadly we have decided to postpone the Jazz and supper evening on Friday February 11th
Lunch event Wednesday February 23rd

Planting for Hope Uganda in the News

There was a lovely article in the December 29th issue of Stourbridge News reporting the opening of the girls' dormitory, built as a result of fund raising  activities spearheaded by Kinver and Bewdley Rotarians.

Christmas and New Year News

The children and their teachers (always called aunties and uncles) enjoyed a day before Christmas at Hope House. The day was made so special for them as they all enjoyed cakes, sweets drinks and biscuits. It was a real party
Happy times preparing for the Christmas meal
Planting for Hope food hampers enabled poor families in Kititi village to celebrate Christmas. The hampers came packed with staple food such as rice, porridge, beans, sugar, fresh vegetables and fruits and also laundry soap, cooking oil and other special items.

This year the PfHU piggery project, operated by Betty the farm manager,  provided pork to the cooperative ladies and their families.

Thanks to the women's cooperative who have worked so hard to grow maize. the children of Cornerstone school can now have a mug of porridge at break time.
Back to school at last
On 10th January all the children reported back to school. Primary, secondary technical and community polytechnics opened for a 14 week first term
