As a child, reading was one of the things Dr. Lakeisha Johnson loved most. Often, Lakeisha wished she had more books with children who looked like her, talked like her, and whose lives mirrored hers. As a speech-language pathologist, Dr. Johnson found that books are the perfect anchor to foster strong language skills. Maya’s Book Nook is the merging of two of her passions.
