• Virginia Career Works (VCW) hosts a weekly virtual job search prep workshop on Tuesdays, at 2pm.  This week's topic is Interviewing on Zoom. Registration required.  Their Thursday, Employer of the Week, is Goodwin William Staffing. Registration required.  They have LOTS of jobs, especially in construction, project management, skilled trades, laborers and more!  
• Are you a U.S. military veteran in college, wondering about your next steps? Sign up for our webinar on January 18 at 2 pm (EST) to hear about the Veterans Employment Trajectory (VET) Initiative – a fully funded, 9-week summer internship and career development program in Washington, D.C. Applications are now being accepted until 2/1/22 for the program.

• Attention Computer Tech job seekers.  Shift/Enter is hosting a Job Seeker's Workshop on Saturday, January 22, 9:30am-3pm. They will offer attendees three sessions and three types of sessions to choose from: Resume Clinic, Mock Interview and Career Path Conversation. If you can't afford the $8 cost, email your resume to careers@pvcc.edu and we will see if we can get you a scholarship.

• Monticello / Thomas Jefferson Foundation has something for everyone! Internships, Security Officer, Shuttle Bus Drivers, and HR Generalist (this would require a bachelor's degree). Base pay is $15/hour. Find opportunities here.

• The National Science Foundation (NSF) is recruiting for its funded summer research program, designed exclusively for community college students interested in gaining hands-on experience with biological and biochemical research and data science. A $6,000 stipend, on-campus housing at JMU, food, and travel support included. Apply by 3/15/22.

• Covenant School seeks a part-time IT Desktop Support Associate. 
• Westminster-Canterbury is hiring for a full-time IT Tech Support Specialist paying $39-48,000. An associate's degree is needed for this position (don't let the reference to a bachelor's degree keep you from applying; they reached out to PVCC).
• Here's another great part-time entry-level tech/customer service job that has a limited time only $1000 sign-on bonus with T-Mobile as a Retail Sales Associate.
• Pratt & Whitney is hiring Manufacturing Technicians paying $18-20/hour! The first 20 technicians they hire will receive a $3000 sign-on bonus. No prior experience is required but an interest in precision-work is required. They also have a tuition assistance program and lots of other great benefits (including free coffee and parking!).
