QUESTIONS?
SHOUT-OUTS
  • Derrick Buisch at Tory Folliard Gallery (Milwaukee)
MFA alum Derrick Buisch presents his solo exhibition, Chroma: Color and Abstraction on view now through February 26 at Tory Folliard Gallery. Vibrating lines morph into playful symbols of pop culture and brilliant color combinations provide jolts of electric energy in this series of paintings.  Meant to be visually engaging and potentially unnerving, Buisch combines evocative imagery with moments of uneasy hilarity.

  • Rotem Tamir in Carriers for Posterity at Law Warschaw Gallery (St. Paul)
Assistant Professor Rotem Tamir has work included in the group exhibition Carriers for Posterity at the Law Warschaw Gallery on view January 28 through March 23, 2022. In this exhibition artists are auto-ethnographers who bring forward histories of family and self through images and objects that hold these truths. Working as historians, artists use the authority of lived experience to trace family lineage, intersect time, connect to place, and create new traditions for themselves, their families, and future generations. Join the gallery for an opening reception on Friday, January 28 from 6–8 PM. Book your reservation to visit the gallery.

  • Teréz Iacovino receives Warhol Foundation Curatorial Research Fellowship for the Nash Gallery
Assistant Curator Teréz Iacovino (MFA '14) and her co-curator, José López Serra, recently received a Fall 2021 Andy Warhol Foundation for The Visual Arts Curatorial Research Fellowship for the Katherine E. Nash Gallery. This $47,000 Fellowship is in support of the 2025 Katherine E. Nash Gallery exhibition, Back and Forth: Keeping Time in Vaivén, featuring artists working across Puerto Rico and its mainland diaspora over the past twenty-five years. José López Serra is Director of Hidrante, an independent art space in San Juan, PR.
