MISSOURI HOSA 2022 SLC QUALIFIER REGISTRATION CLOSES FEBRUARY 1, 2022
The Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference is scheduled for March 28-29, 2022 at Rolla High School
 
The Missouri HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC) Qualifier is a new virtual event that will allow most competitors to complete Round 1 at their Local Chapter.  This event is mandatory for all competitors, even if Round 1 is non-applicable.  Registration for the SLC Qualifier is currently open and will close on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at midnight.  The Registration Fee for this event is $25.00 and will include online access to the virtual options during the live onsite event; a State Leadership Conference T-Shirt; and a State Leadership Conference Lapel Pin.  Registration fees must be paid to Missouri HOSA, ATTN:  Shelly Wehmeyer, 5th Floor, P.O. Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102.  In order to register, a chapter must be in good standing and all members must be affiliated.  Local Chapter Advisors WILL need to register for the SLC Qualifier.
 
For an all-inclusive document to assist you through the registration process, please use the Missouri HOSA 2022 Virtual SLC Qualifier Registration Checklist.  During the registration process, please remember to: 
 
  • Register any/all members who wish to participate onsite, even if the Competitive Event Round 1 is non-applicable for the SLC Qualifier.
  • Register two Voting Delegates.
  • Register any State Officer Candidates or current State Officers. 
  • Register all qualifying Recognition Event participants who wish to be recognized onsite. 
  • Register a minimum of one (1) Local Chapter Advisor, and any other Local Chapter Advisor who wishes to participate onsite. 
  • Include T-Shirt sizes for all participants. 
  • Link all team competitors through the HOSA Management System.

Online testing for the SLC Qualifier will be held from February 7-10, 2022.  The Online Testing Information & Policies and the Proctor Instructions are below. The Tallo Deadline for all Round 1 events will be Friday, February 4, 2022 by midnight.  Round 1 results will be shared on February 15, 2022.

Registration for the onsite Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference will open on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 and will close on Friday, February 25, 2022 at midnight.  The Registration Fee for this event is $40.00 and will include two meals onsite.  Registration fees must be paid to Missouri HOSA, ATTN:  Shelly Wehmeyer, 5th Floor, P.O. Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102.  In order to register, participants will need to have met qualifications noted in the Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference Event Agenda.  At least one (1) Local Chapter Advisor must be registered for the Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference
 
All registered participants attending the Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference will need a Medical Liability Release and Code of Conduct form on file at their local chapter, along with the Missouri HOSA COVID-19 Liability Release Waiver.  In order to assure everyone completes these forms, please require all HOSA local chapter members to submit these forms to you with affiliation.
 
The Missouri HOSA Chapter Assurance Form is due by March 1, 2022.  This form is the only document needed at our office.  Please send this form to Rachel Fisher at rachel.fisher@dese.mo.gov.  She may be reached at 573-751-7965.

Tallo
Tallo will be utilized at the Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference Qualifier for the following Competitive Events: 
  • Used for project content in Community Awareness, Health Career Display (Secondary Only), Health Career Photography, Health EducationJob Seeking Skills, Medical Innovation, MRC Partnership, Public Service Announcement, Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking, and Research Poster
  • Used for Student Eligibility Forms in Interviewing Skills, Life Support Skills, Personal Care and Speaking Skills.
The Tallo SLC Qualifier deadline is Friday, February 4, 2022 by midnight.  The International Leadership Conference deadline is May 15, 2022.  This means that changes can be made after the State Leadership Conference if a student qualifies to compete and Tallo may be utilized for additional information and competitive events.  For more information on Tallo, please visit https://hosa.org/competitive-events-and-tallo/

A list of hotels with conference blocked room rates is attached.  Please note that as Missouri HOSA partners with additional hotels, a revised document may be sent out. 
 
The Pear Tree Inn located in Rolla, Missouri will no longer be operated by Drury Hotels Company, LLC., effective January 27, 2022.  The hotel name will change to the Days Inn and will be operated by an independent owner.  Any reservation made under Pear Tree Inn, Rolla Missouri has been cancelled. However, you can rebook your reservation after January 22, 2022, when the Days Inn reservation system will be open.

Missouri HOSA’s 2022 State Leadership Conference Keynote Speaker

Special Talent Request
You probably have HOSA members with special talents in your Chapter and Missouri HOSA is searching for them!
 
Missouri HOSA is recruiting singers and performers for the Opening General Session of the State Leadership Conference on March 28-29, 2022. Missouri HOSA is looking for talented singers and performers to participate by singing either the National Anthem or another patriotic or inspirational song of choice. If you are interested, please send a YouTube link to Missouri HOSA. The deadline for entries is February 15, 2022.  If selected, the performer will sing/perform at the Opening General Session at the Missouri HOSA 2022 State Leadership Conference. You may email a link or questions to Shelly Wehmeyer, Missouri HOSA State Advisor, at Shelly.Wehmeyer@dese.mo.gov.  In the subject line, please write “MISSOURI HOSA 2022 SLC SPECIAL TALENT” and then attach the YouTube link within the email.  Please record both songs (National Anthem and Patriotic/Inspirational song of choice) if you wish to be considered for either opportunity.  Be sure the HOSA member includes: full name, school, local chapter advisor name, address and phone number.
HOSA Store
The HOSA Store will be open for business on Tuesday between the hours of 10:00 am – 3:30 pm.  Please see the price list below for full details.  The store will accept cash and credit card (with a minimum purchase of $15.00).  Prices range from $1.00 items to $45.00.  There is something for everyone, so please remind students of this opportunity!  The HOSA Store will also be located at HOSA Zone!

HOSA Zone
HOSA Zone is a one-stop shop for entertainment on Tuesday during the SLC!  HOSA Zone will be open during the hours of 10:00 am – 3:30 pm, and will be integrated with both Exhibitor Booths and State Officer Candidate booths.  There will be interactive games and activities happening all day!  If you have students who are not competing, this is where they will want to be!  Please encourage all student members to attend this event, as it will be a time to network, have fun, and learn! 

Student members will have an opportunity to earn tickets when visiting with Exhibitors at HOSA Zone for an hourly drawing of Missouri HOSA Swag Bags valued at $50.00 each. 
Educational Symposium
Educational Symposium Presentations will be scheduled on hourly rotations throughout the conference at Rolla High School.  All participants are strongly encouraged to attend these workshops on a variety of topics. 
Missouri HOSA Statewide Service Project
On Monday evening, student members can stop in to assist with the HOSA Service Project to create cards for patients at both the Delbert Day Cancer Institute and the Missouri Veterans Home.  All supplies will be provided by Missouri HOSA, so use this opportunity to share your time and talent to brighten someone’s day!

TALLO COLLEGE FAIR
Tallo is officially hosting the 2022 College Fair of the Year. On February 10, 2022, they are inviting High School students nationwide to meet two-year and four-year colleges and universities, and minority-serving institutions from across the country.
 
Their goal is to help your students and members find a school that aligns with their purpose and passion! It’s never too early to have your students explore and connect with colleges such as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, Toccoa Falls College, and many more!
 
Students are also entered to win a $1,000 scholarship simply by registering.
 
The event is hosted on Ping by Tallo, our app that matches students with best-fit schools based on mutual interests and qualifications. Students and members can engage with their matches at any time from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm ET, allowing for flexibility of schedules!

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE INAUGURAL 2022 VIRTUAL HEALTH CARE CAREER DAY
Save the date for the first-ever Health Care Career Day scheduled for February 25, 2022. Students will get a chance to learn from a variety of healthcare professionals in the state via live stream. Both K-12 and higher education students and school groups can register free of charge, to see inside various occupational pathways, learn about the future of health care and virtually engage directly with professionals from some of the best health care centers around the state.

2021-2022 AFFILIATION INFORMATION
The 2021-2022 Affiliation Packet has been released and can be found at https://hosa.org/what-is-hosa/ and below. As always, please feel free to also contact Shelly Wehmeyer at 573-751-3407 or shelly.wehmeyer@dese.mo.gov with any questions. If you have forgotten or misplaced your charter number/password or if you are new to the School District and do not have access, please feel free to reach out as well. The 2021-2022 International and Missouri affiliation dues are $15.00 total per member.  Please make sure that all contact information for Local Chapter Advisors is included.  Also assure that all members have paid their dues prior to affiliation, as your school district will be charged if affiliation is completed.  Affiliation fees should be sent to HOSA Headquarters, 548 Silicon Drive, #101, Southlake, TX 76092.
