CNA
(Certified Nurse Assistant)
CNA students at DeKalb helped to promote our KEC program with our simulator “Richard” during the lunch hour.

Welding/AET
 
Welding/AET students are working on OSHA training this month. This industry recognized certification is an important part of the career-ready platform.
 

Sports Medicine
 
Sports Medicine students just finished up the ankle unit and are now into the knee unit. During this time, they have practiced palpation sites, and began assessing squat and jump landing techniques.

Criminal Justice
 
Criminal Justice students are learning this semester that not only does it take a village to raise a child but it takes the entire community to secure itself.

CIS
(Computer Information Systems)
 
Plans for the spring semester are to take the fundamentals learned in the fall to the next level where we will learn the skills necessary to build user friendly applications like the calculator pictured below.
Medical Terminology
Medical Terminology students are finishing up the Cardiovascular Unit. Students listened to heart sounds and had a review unit on taking vital signs.

Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education students have been learning the vital role that hands-on play has in children's learning. We explored a variety of materials thinking about how play supports children's social, emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and creative development.
