Joyful movement may be a new term for you. This approach to physical activity emphasizes on finding pleasure or joy from moving your body, instead of choosing movement solely to burn calories. Try to remove the pressure to exercise or move for a specific amount of time or number of days per week.

Joyful movement can be any form of movement that makes you feel strong, happy, and/or peaceful with your body and mind. From walking, running, or yoga to gardening, rollerblading, or dancing in your living room, the most important outcome of joyful movement is that it should bring you joy!
Practice joyful movement intuitively- listening to your body when you need rest & varying your forms of movement. Some days you may find yourself needing a long walk to clear your head. Other days, your body may crave a more physically challenging form of movement.

Choosing movement intuitively may help to create a positive relationship with movement and to find balance between the body and mind.
