Hi, friends!  Last week I shared some tips on why you may not be making money on social media.  For that recap, click here: http://eepurl.com/hUisxj

This week I am sharing some imperative things that have helped me with my business and how to successfully work with paid campaigns with notable brands.

If you don't know how to price yourself, network, and you want to work with luxury and notable brands, this week’s newsletter is going to be very beneficial.  As my father says: "Always go straight to the horse's mouth."

What you will notice about Thomas Co. & Ave is that we discuss everything with the experts in this field, which is going to be essential in your influencer journey.

Let's jump into it.

How to Price Yourself as An Influencer

Your time is your energy.  Charge what you are worth.  The biggest question that I receive from other influencers is: "How much to charge?”

I had a chance to chat with Cynthia Ruff, friend and fellow veteran blogger, about pricing and how to negotiate your worth.

One of my favorite things to do in this space is to negotiate.  Ask for what you want.  My saying is: “If you think of pennies, you get pennies.  If you think dollars, you get dollars.”

Network = Net worth

Networking is an investment in your business.  It takes time.  And when done correctly, networking can yield great results for years to come.  My brand is where it is today because of simple networking and surrounding myself with people with where I desire to be.  You can go further, together.  The right people do not mind helping you grow in your career.  If you are not networking in the influencer space, it can be very costly.  When you network in this space, you start meeting like-minded individuals with which you can collaborate.

For example, when you're in a crunch, you can have a friend take your pictures.  You also can learn about upcoming brand direction and help your business grow.  Additionally, your name will start to be mentioned in rooms you have yet to enter.  A lot of deals in this space come from recommendations, personal relationships, and working on previous campaigns together.

Thirty-five percent of my brand deals are from people that I know.  I have a proven track record of under-promising and over-delivering.  If you aren't networking, you aren't growing nor learning about the influencer space.  You must invest in your network.  Put yourself out there!  Look up events in your area that will help you grow.

I spoke to celebrity chef, Jourdan Cha’Taun, who has been the personal chef for Tyler Perry, Diddy, and Floyd Mayweather.  She has never applied for any of these jobs.  She simply secured these positions solely off of networking.

Working With Luxury Brands

I have had a chance to partner with several luxury brands, national and international.  One of my favorite brands to partner with is the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta.  I had a chance to sit down and get some tricks of the trade with Ashley Slaveny, PR manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta, to discuss how to work with luxury brands, what these brands are looking for, and how to position yourself.
