FEBRUARY 2022

ISSUE: #02

Kia orana ki to tatou au kōpu tangata o te Enterprising Families!

We hope you all are keeping safe and well during what seems to be a never-ending battle with COVID-19 in our community. We know that adjusting to the new norm is challenging so we encourage that if you and your family require support during this time, to please reach out to us at CIDANZ.

This edition we will be sharing yet another awesome story of our eFAMILIES in action at the I AM Mangere Market held at the Mangere Town Centre. This year the I AM Mangere Collective has created a series of markets with the purpose of supporting whanau and small businesses/startups following the impact of COVID-19. The first market of the series was an integration of a Farmers Market and Local Social Enterprise Market of which we had six eFAMILIES participate over both days.

We also wanted to inform you of the upcoming events, business opportunities and support services that are available for you and your family.

Don’t forget to like and follow our social pages on Facebook and Instagram  to keep to date with Enterprising Families’ notices.

Wishing you all a great week ahead.

Meitaki ma’ata e kia manuia.

What an awesome start to the year for our eFAMILIES. On Friday 11th and Saturday 12th February, we had the privilege of supporting a few of us eFAMILIES at the first I AM Mangere Market series held at the Mangere Town Centre. Both days were an absolute success, and it was a joy to watch the community come together in support of one another.

Meitaki ma’ata to our Enterprising Families' businesses (Amelia and Emma’s Kitchen, Ataahua Jewellery, Mama Pati’s Food Bar, Akari Body Treats, Mama’s Donuts Botany and Rukau Hut) for sharing this experience with us.

Thank you to Toni and the team at I AM Mangere Collective for having CIDANZ and our eFAMILIES as part of this amazing event. We look forward to the next one!

Support for people who cannot work due to COVID-19: There are two different COVID-19 payments to help pay workers and self-employed people who are self-isolating and are available for employers and self-employed people at any COVID-19 traffic light setting.
COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme
  • COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme is for when people need to self-isolate and can’t work from home. The Leave Support Scheme is a weekly payment, paid at a flat rate of:
    • $600 a week for workers who were working 20 hours or more a week (full-time)
    • $359 a week for workers who were working less than 20 hours a week (part-time).
To be eligible the worker will need to meet certain health criteria, e.g.: they have COVID-19 or are a close contact. They must also have been told to self-isolate for at least four consecutive days. For more information about the COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme here.
COVID-19 Short-Term Absence Payment
