Hello social enterprise lovers!

It was great to see how many members in the incredible list of change makers for ProBono’s 2022 Impact 25 review! Good luck to all our friends and colleagues from across the country! We know that you are all very deserving of this award, recognising the commitment to the growth of impact and social enterprise across Australia. We can’t wait to see the results.

From pandemic to endemic? It’s a dynamic time, as we observe the shift to “living with the virus”. Social enterprises and businesses more generally have been grappling with staffing levels, opening hours, cash flow pressures, demand and supply chain challenges. We asked our social enterprise members to respond to a survey to help shape how we advocate for social enterprise in the coming weeks and months to Government. You can read the report here and if you haven’t yet responded, it's not too late to have your say! Click here to complete the survey The survey will remain open to help us understand the shifting nature of the business landscape and the needs of social enterprises.

We are very excited for the year ahead as we plan to implement the programs we first established through the Reset and Recovery program and expand to regional and ecosystem development across many more areas of the state. The work we undertook in 2021 was evaluated by Griffith University’s Yunus Centre. Through this period we have developed a Regional Development Framework to help guide the kinds of levers and programs required to truly “shift the needle” for social enterprise in Queensland. In coming weeks we will be introducing our new Ecosystem Development Officer to help co-design this new program. There are more roles and initiatives coming up, so please stay tuned for more updates in coming weeks.

As ever, we are dedicated to growing the strength of our community and networks of social enterprises, so please feel free to connect with us to share your insights and let us know how we can work together!

  • Thursday 3 February at 3pm (AEDT)
  • Tuesday 8 February at 3pm (AEDT)
