A Major Makeover for the Rise Thrift Store!

Last month we closed the doors of the Rise Thrift Store to the public for nearly three weeks as we conducted major renovations and a complete rebrand of the store!  The Rise team partnered with local contractors including Diverisified Shelving and a dynamic marketing and design duo from Waypoint Studios to complete this massive undertaking in short order.  We are SO pleased with the way we were able to preserve the character of this historic building while simultaneously upgrading the space and the shopper experience (check out the before and after photos below)!  Whether you've shopped there in the past, or it's your first time in the store, we know you'll be impressed!  The clean white paint, modernfixtures and vibrant new branding give the space an upscale feel but you're still guaranteed to find the best prices around on fabulous thrifted finds!  And every dollar spent in the store still goes right back into your community in the form of the many social services that Rise provides!  So what are you waiting for?  Come on in and shop for the greater good!

We would like to recognize the following companies for all of their hard work in making this project come together: Ken Marshall Electric, SignIt Signs, American Display, Waypoint Studios, Tom Davidson Visual Merchandising Consultant, Genius X Remodeling, Luis Yaeggy Painting, Wilson Rene Sangurima, Blake Glass, Diversified Shelving, Sherwin Williams, Home Depot, Store Supply Warehouse, All-in-One Supplies, Fixures & Displays, Bin There Dump That, and more.
We're Hiring!

WE'RE HIRING! Love the new look of Rise Thrift Store? We're looking to add to our team! Does thrifting excite you? Do you enjoy meeting new people, having a creative outlet, getting involved in your community, and thrive in a fun retail atmosphere? If so, we'd love to chat! Come in to the Rise Thrift Store and fill out an application to be our newest Retail Sales Associate! This is a full-time, salaried position. The right candidate will embody our values of community, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and adaptability. Preferred skills include excellent interpersonal skills, patience and empathy, being bi-lingual, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, and having a friendly and high-energy personality (you'll be the face our customers see when they shop the store!). And did we mention there are employee discounts?

Share the Love in February!

Every year we celebrate February with our annual "Share the Love" program, and this year we feel like a lot of people need a little more love!  At the Rise Thrift Store, show your gratitude and care for your neighbors and your community by purchasing a heart for our "Share the Love" wall.  All proceeds go directly back to Rise to help support our programs.  Want to host a "Share the Love" drive, or put together some care packages?  We're collecting bags for area children that include a pair of pajamas, a nighttime book for kids, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a stuffed animal to snuggle with.  Please consider donating bags of these items that are age appropriate, or donating individual items to our drive that we will distribute at our home office.

Doing Good for Your Community & the Environment All at Once!
We have been selected by Stop & Shop stores as the beneficiary of their Community Bags program for the month of February!  Each day this month, when you purchase a Community Bag at the Stop & Shop location at 1600 Perrineville Road, Monroe Township, NJ, $1 from that purchase will be donated to Rise!  The re-usable shopping bags are made from 95% recycled materials, cost $2.50 each and are located at various registers or on the re-usable bag racks.  If you can't find them, just ask a store associate where they are and they will be happy to help you!
January Community Impact by the Numbers

Every day, our mission is to help our neighbors in whatever way we can.  In January, we had 433 new clients visit the food pantry.  The need is greater than ever in our community!  We're proud to have distributed 13,331 bags of food to local families.  We also handed out 423 winter coats.  471 bags of baby supplies for new parents were given to those in need.  These efforts are made possible by donations that we receive and by our amazing volunteers.  We want you to know that you are making a huge difference in the lives of people around you who may be struggling, and lifting up your entire community.  If you want to help us make these numbers grow, you can donate to Rise at https://njrise.org/donate. Want to make even more of an impact? Become a Rise Good Neighbor and pledge to make a recurring monthly contribution that helps us better manage our budget and know that we are ready to take action when needs arise outside of our normal fundraising schedule, which has become our reality in recent years.
