All ages can complete our Black Inventors Scavenger Hunt by asking a Librarian at the red reference desk for a scavenger hunt sheet. Everyone who completes their sheet will earn a sticker. This activity is open to all ages and has two levels of difficulty.

On Saturday, February 5 @ 2p, join us for an afternoon of thought-provoking and inspirational dialogue with local legend, Rev. Dr. Samuel Seward, as he delivers the powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Meet some animals that have incredible superpowers on Saturday, February 12 @ 11a. Every animal needs a superpower to survive in the wild. Which superpowers would you choose? Invisibility, speed, flight, or regeneration? We will discuss each animal’s superpower and how they are used.

Learn about Black superheroes in the multiverse on Saturday, February 26 @ 11a. Go on a quest for Black inventors and their inventions, watch Static in action on screen, vanquish villains, join the Library’s justice league, and make a few crafts. Come dressed as your favorite superhero or create your own and share!

The group will discuss Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear (Mystery) in the Library Activity Room on Wednesday, February 2 @ 1p.

Learn what it takes to succeed in job interviews and practice your skills answering questions employers might ask on Saturday, February 5 @ 10a.

Maker Monday is an in-person craft program for adults led by Library staff every 2nd & 4th Monday night @ 6:30p. Each workshop features a different craft as well as various methods and techniques. All materials are provided free of charge. Ages 14 and up welcome.

Parents and teens are invited to a fun night of activities, games, and discussion to see who does it better: teens now or teens from back in the day on
Tuesday, February 15 @ 6p.

Put your knowledge to the test on Thursday, February 17 @ 6:30p. Join us every 3rd Thursday of the month for Trivia Night. Teams or single players are welcome. The trivia topic will change each month, so be ready for some competitive fun. Kahoot will be used to play. No childcare will be provided.

In case you missed our November Tasting, we are doing it again on Saturday, February 19 @ 3p. Get your caffeine fix while uncovering the history of coffee from around the world with Cordon Bleu Chef Mel. Sample desserts that pair with each coffee throughout your tour from the comfort of the Library.
No childcare will be provided.

Want to get more involved in your library? Come to a Friends of the Library meeting every 3rd Tuesday @ 6:30p. Membership is not required in order to attend the meetings.

Rhythm & Rhyme Storytime: A 20-minute lapsit storytime featuring developmentally appropriate board books, rhymes, and movement encouraging early literacy for infants 0-18 months. If children can walk steadily, then we suggest Family Storytime. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. 

Family Storytime: For children of all ages who can actively engage. This interactive storytime with books, music, and movement is a high engagement storytime that instills the love of literacy and the Library at an early age. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. Thursday is a repeat of Wednesday’s program. 

Bricks & Books: Use toy building bricks to complete different challenges based on books. This program is for school age students 10-18.

Rovers: Participants explore the wide world through reading, STEM, and innovation. This program is for school age students 6-9.

Teen Takeover: Teens can come hang out, eat pizza, and watch a movie related a book on Saturday, February 19 @ 11a. We will discuss the book and the movie (love or hate) in open-minded discussion. Starting February 1, claim an activity kit to accompany the book and movie. February’s selection is The Darkest Minds. Registration is requested for an accurate food order. March’s selection is Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
