Community Spotlight:

Caleb Watney and Alec Stapp recently launched the Institute for Progress. IFP is a new EA/Progress Studies aligned think tank dedicated to accelerating scientific, technological, and industrial progress while safeguarding humanity's future. Initial areas of focus include Metascience, Immigration, Biosecurity, and Emerging Tech. Their team includes Nikki Teran, Senior Biosecurity Fellow, and Jeremy Neufeld, Senior Immigration Fellow.

Want to meet and work with EAs organized around your favorite cause area? Our cause area meetup groups are going strong - here are the meetups happening this month:  If you’d like to join the mailing lists for any of our groups please fill out this form and we’ll add you!   Would you like to facilitate a cause area group? Our first 80k podcast discussion group - discussing  Andrew Yang - was a success! let us know if there's an episode that you would like to propose we discuss next, or if there is a discussion you want to host!   

EA DC Book Club: We are meeting to discuss the Life You Can Save  there’s a free ebook and audiobook linked on the Eventbrite page. Let us know if you’d like a physical copy of the book as well by emailing 

EA DC Article Reading Group: Meets monthly, covering a different topic area of interest each month. This group is currently at capacity and will reopen to newcomers shortly
