COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program

The COVID-19 Business Impact Support Program has been established to support Tasmanian businesses whose business operations have been impacted due to:

  • critical staff being required to isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19, or
  • being forced to close due to a Public Health Direction, or
  • having suffered a significant reduction in demand,

that has resulted in a reduction in turnover due to COVID-19 of 30% or more between 15 December 2021 and 14 January 2022 inclusive, compared to the same period in the previous year (15 December 2020 - 14 January 2021).

Please take two minutes of your time to complete the survey.
The TCCI has been funded by the Tasmanian Government to provide free support and advice to any Tasmanian business with workplace related enquiries relating to COVID-19.  Business can access up to one hour for free workplace relations advice. 

This is in addition to the five hours of free work health and safety advice currently offered through TCCI WHS advisory services funded by the WorkCover Tasmania Board.  These services includes, but are not limited to the following:
  • Advice on how to manage employee vaccinations in your workplace
  • Support in managing your employment obligations in the event of a COVID outbreak or lock down
  • Review and provide recommendations on COVID-19 safe plans
  • Assistance to manage employee entitlements and conditions
  • Workplace health and safety advice in relation to managing the risks associated with COVID-19 in the workplace
  • Advice on how to manage any risks associated with vaccination related policies or requirements
  • Refusal of entry to customers who refuse to use the Check In Tas app
  • Record keeping requirements and advice in relation to record keeping
  • Employee consultation requirements in relation to COVID-19 policies and vaccination requirements
  • Support conducting a risk assessment
  • General employee related enquiries resulting from COVID-19 policies, requirements or outbreaks
  • General WHS information and advice related to managing risks associated with COVID-19 policies, requirements or outbreaks

Business Tasmania is a Tasmanian Government service which supports anyone starting or operating a business in Tasmania.

COVID-19 Small Business Advice and Financial Guidance Program

This program aims to provide eligible small businesses with access to specialist financial services and/or business support to assist in business recovery, transition, growth, or application of other strategies to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible applicants will receive a grant of between $750 and $1 500 to obtain financial or business guidance services from a suitably qualified specialist/consultant to assist small businesses with:

  • Advice, support, counselling, and the development of strategies to address financial/operational difficulties being experienced by the applicant.
  • The development of risk management strategies.
  • Strategic analysis.
  • Advice and analysis regarding the management of cash flow, preparation of cash flow budgets and projections.
  • Profitability analysis.
  • The formulation of financial/operational strategies to assist businesses address the impact of COVID-19.
  • The development of business plans and governance frameworks.
  • Advice regarding the management of debts and liabilities.
  • Advice on pivoting, diversification, product innovation, marketing or online presence

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is seeking organisations to host business interns in 2022 for the Corporate Internship Program.
 
The Corporate Internship Program allows business students the opportunity to apply theoretical learning and network within practical, real-world settings. Students studying in business areas include accounting, finance, marketing, management and economics who may apply and learn within organisations 1 or 2 days a week.
 
Equally, participating organisations gain access to talented students, complete valuable project work and help mentor students in their final year of study.

Foundation Skills Survey

TasTAFE and 26TEN are partnering up to conduct research about foundation skills in the workplace and we would love to know about the impact of these skills in YOUR business. 

This research will inform the creation of a flexible training tool kit for managers and supervisors, to support 'in house' foundation skill development for workers. 

We invite you to complete our short survey.
B4 Early Years Coalition (B4) is looking for new Leaders!

EOIs are being sought NOW from influential individuals or organisational representatives who: are passionate supporters of early years initiatives; may have expertise in the early years field; are good communicators, highly collaborative and have experience in a board like environment.

B4 Leaders play a key role in B4 delivering on both its current commitments and those identified with the ‘It takes a Tasmanian Village’ – Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy (the Strategy) in regard to The First 1000 Days. B4 is seeking Leaders who will drive this work forward and support all Tasmanian children receive the support when and where they need it to thrive.
