February Event
North Gandy Beach Cleanup

Women in Aviation Tampa Bay together with Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and Sheltair worked together to clean the North Gandy Beach. We collected over 350 lbs of trash and litter. Throughout the morning, beach goers and fishermen thanked us for our efforts as they drove by.
Keep Pinellas Beautiful provided us with all we needed to complete our mission.
These types of joint events present wonderful networking opportunities and introductions to multiple aspects of the aviation industry.

Have you ever thought about becoming a Flight Dispatcher?

Without a flight dispatcher, many commercial airline flights would not get off the ground. The flight's dispatcher is responsible for planning the flight route taking into consideration enroute and destination weather, winds aloft, alternate destinations, fuel required, altitudes, and traffic flow. The flight dispatcher works closely with the captain and both are responsible for the safety of the flight.

Dispatchers have studied meteorology, FAA aviation regulations, and airline operations. They have passed a required knowledge and practical test to obtain an FAA Dispatch Certificate.
