Parkview Front Doors: Open!
Our front entry doors will be open during the school day from 9:10 am - 4:00 pm. This will allow easier access to the main office for students coming to school late, parents dropping off items, and for parents picking up students early. We appreciate your patience during the time of limited access to our building for safety and health reasons.

Sign Up for Parent-Teacher Conferences: Now
Sign up now for parent-teacher conferences. Conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 9 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday, February 10 from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Conferences can be scheduled in-person or via Zoom.
Please use our scheduling website to make your appointment: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Parkview_Elementary. If you would like to request a Zoom conference, please complete the "Special Requests" box in the scheduler or send your child's teacher an email to make that request. If you need assistance scheduling a conference, feel free to contact the office at 952-431-8350.

 Cuddle Up and Read: Tomorrow!
February is I Love to Read Month. We will be doing some very simple activities to celebrate reading. This week, on Friday, February 4 we will have Cuddle Up and Read Day. Students should plan to do a little quiet reading in their classrooms on Friday. Their teachers will explain how each classroom will celebrate the day.

Grade 5 Reading Clubs: Tomorrow
Our Red Panda and Giant Panda fifth grade reading clubs are holding their meetings tomorrow—Friday, February 4—from 8:30AM until 9:10AM.

 Book Fair: Open During Conferences
It’s almost time for the Scholastic book fair! It will be open during conferences and held in the hallway near the fish pond. This is a fundraiser to help the library purchase new books!
Open hours:
February 9th- 4:00 PM - 7:45* PM
February 10th- 12:00 PM - 7:30* PM
(*So that our volunteers have time to clean up, please note that the fair will be closed before the final conferences end at 8PM! If you are scheduled for a late conference, please visit us before your conference.)

Specialist Panda Tickets: Seeking Donations
Each day, during specialist time, students have the opportunity to earn a Positive Panda ticket if they have chosen to follow the expectations for that class. Once students earn five tickets they can get a prize or they could choose to save their tickets for bigger prizes.
We are looking for donations for prizes! If you would like to help we would appreciate small individually wrapped candies, individual snacks, small notebooks, activity books, cute erasers, small toys (that do not make noise and would not be a distraction) and anything else you think our Parkview Pandas would enjoy!

No School: Feb 10 and 11
There are no classes for students on both Thursday, February 10 and Friday, February 11. The Parkview office is also closed on Friday, February 11.

Wear Winter Clothes!
Our students go outside for fresh air every day, even when it's cold. We only stay indoors when the windchill or temperature is below zero. Please make sure that your child has warm outdoor clothing at school every day.

Conference Meals for Staff: Feb 9
Thank you to everyone who signed up to donate items for the Parkview teachers and staff conference meal being held on Wednesday, February 9th! We just need a few volunteers to help set up the meal, and cleanup. Please sign up, if you are able to volunteer!

Spring PTO Committees
We need your help! We have open positions on two Spring PTO committees that need volunteers. We are looking for two volunteers to coordinate the Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Night, and for two volunteers to produce the Parkview Directory. Now is a great time to sign up to help Parkview!

ActionNOW!: Feb 17
Please join us for the next installment of the ActioNOW! High School Series on Thursday, February 17, 6-8 p.m. at Rosemount High School! This free, family-friendly event is hosted by the District 196 African-American Cultural Family Advocates and the Equity and Inclusion Department, in partnership with the district and RHS.
ActioNOW! is an event where the community comes together to celebrate African-American culture through performances, activities, dialogue and food. Other activities will include community booths and a gift basket raffle. Please join us, all are welcome!
