Pandemic Policy Update from the Metropolis
February 3, 2022

Good evening reverend Fathers, esteemed Metropolis & Parish Council members, and dedicated Parish Secretaries,

His Eminence, after consultation with his advisors, and in consideration of the steady and considerable decline in case rates since the high points in early-to-mid January (depending on the state) is making the following adjustments to the pandemic policy:
  • Masking, while still strongly encouraged, is not mandated. His Eminence continues to urge the faithful to take reasonable steps to protect their neighbor, especially the most vulnerable among us. Consideration should be made for environment as well - whether the gathering space is small (meeting room or classroom) or large (Church, gym); whether circulation is better or worse; etc.
  • Virtual participation in critical meetings should still be offered.
  • Parishes are free to implement stricter measures based on case rates in their areas (as many have done in previous months).
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will let you know if anything changes. Wishing you a blessed night,

Your servant in His vineyard,

+ Fr George S. Callos
Chancellor
At this time the masking policy of the Annunciation Parish Council is still in effect until further notice:

Effective August 23, 2021, all persons in our church will be required to wear a mask covering their noses and mouths during all church indoor activities, liturgies, and services. This policy will remain in effect during periods of substantial or high community transmission and be modified   during periods of low or moderate transmission, as determined by the CDC.

Spiritual Reflection

I'm So Blessed Daily

And one day you realize that it wasn’t the game, it was who you watched it with.
It wasn’t about the house you owned. It was the people in it.
It wasn’t about the best coffee ever, but who you made it for.
It wasn’t all the work you put in, but who was in the trenches with you.
It wasn’t the great dinner prepared for you. It was who brought you your plate.
You have to learn how to value the time that someone gives you because that’s something they will never get back. It’s priceless.
When you’re at the end of your years, what’s really going to matter?
