I hope this message finds you well and that your 2022 is off to a good start!
Despite the cold and winter doldrums, Michigan Federated Teachers are revving up across our great state with 16 Festival areas.
Congratulations to all the teachers and juniors who are participating in the 2022 Festival! This is such a rewarding and enriching experience for all participants.
Also, another round of applause to our state for being one of the leading participants in using the National Online Management Program - Vivace!
Well done, Michigan and thank you for all that you do for MFMC!
Musically yours,
Arlene Anger

Highlights of the MFMC 2022 Annual Convention
May 19 & 20, 2022
We are SO EXCITED about this convention! Are you??
We know you will be excited, too, when you hear the news!!
The Convention will be held at the beautiful Somerset Inn, in Troy, adjacent to the famous Somerset Collection, one of the largest indoor malls in the country! The hotel has 2 restaurants and a nine-hole golf course. For your convenience, room accommodations have been made available to us at a greatly reduced rate for both nights, so that you will not need to drive in the early morning or late at night!
Registration for the Convention will open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, and the Opening Ceremonies of the Convention will be at 9:00 a.m. Business Meetings will be held on Friday, May 20, but, of course, you will want to take advantage of all the other wonderful events planned for your enjoyment. These include:
Meadow Brook Hall Tour
Meadow Brook Hall is a National Historic Landmark, - a beautiful, Tudor- revival style mansion covering 88,000 square feet, with 110 rooms, located on the grounds of Oakland University. The Tour - for a minimum of 10 people, is planned for the afternoon of Thursday, May 19th. More information to come!!
Join us on this visit to experience the beauty of the fourth-largest historic mansion museum in the U.S.A. You can car-pool from the hotel to the Mansion – only 10 minutes away!
SPECIAL CONCERT! - Yuki and Tomoko Mack
We know you will not want to miss the amazing opportunity to hear a wonderful performance by the world-famous Piano Duo – Yuki and Tomoko Mack - - FREE!
Due to the extreme generosity of a donor, this event is included at no extra cost to you! The Duo will perform early on Friday evening, (May 20).
Award Winners Concert
Also on Friday evening, you can enjoy a delicious Banquet, and then hear the superbly talented winners of the 2022 MFMC Awards in concert. Then you all will want to get together and discuss the wonderful performances you have just experienced!
String Ensemble Concert
This is your opportunity to hear the only String Ensemble affiliated with Michigan Federation of Music Clubs – The Birmingham Musicale String Ensemble, whose members all are members of the Northeast District of MFMC! The Ensemble will perform on Friday morning, so you can enjoy its beautiful music and then all have Lunch together! Also, we are delighted to announce that the Conductor of this Ensemble – superbly talented cellist, Timothy Nicolia, - has agreed to perform during the Memorial Service (honoring those members who have passed away during the past year), which also will be held on Friday morning.
Special Guest Speaker
We are pleased to announce that the Special Guest Speaker from NFMC will be First Vice President, Deborah Freeman, who will share her thoughts and present Special Recognition Awards on Friday, May 20.
NOW – I would strongly encourage every Club in Michigan -and its Members - to submit an advertisement in the Convention Program Booklet – PLEASE!! This will really help to defray the expenses of the Convention.
This is a wonderful opportunity for members to reconnect with “old” friends and make new ones!
This is YOUR convention, and with everyone‘s presence and help, we know it will be a huge success!!
More information regarding Hotel Reservations, Convention Registration and Meal Selections will be made available very soon.
