On the secular calendar it's Ground Hog day! Ol' Phil said six more weeks of winter.
In the Church Calendar, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Temple, or Candlemas. On this Feast we remember Mary's obedience to the Mosaic Law and Jesus' according to that law. We also remember Blessed Simeon who at the end of his life, and upon holding the child Jesus, gives thanks for God's faithfulness to his promise that he would see the salvation, prepared for all the world.
Mass tonight is at 5:30 with dinner to follow.
Tomorrow, 2/3, the Men of the Church will meet at 6:00PM for a Chili Supper. All men are invited, and are encouraged to bring a friend to our fellowship.
