Annual Global Missions' Oyster Roast

Put Saturday, March 5th - 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on your calendar for our annual Global Missions’ oyster roast. There will be live music by Pluff Mud String Band, a bonfire, chili, hot dogs, deserts and, of course, delicious oysters harvested from Richard Baldwin’s lease in pristine waters of the ACE Basin. Bring the family and invite friends to enjoy St. John’s Christian fellowship. Donations will be accepted as our church supports 75 clergy children’s scholarships each year in the Diocese of Northern Uganda.

Continuing to Help our Homeless this Winter

Thank you to all who donated sleeping bags for the homeless people of Charleston. In this cold weather, we are also collecting knitted hats, scarves and large gloves. If you can donate hats, scarves and gloves, and hopefully include a handwritten note to let our homeless people know they are not forgotten.

If you can help, please contact Claudia Boyce  843-860-8811   claudiapboyce@gmail.com.

Tornado devastation

Anglican Relief and Development Fund® (ARDF)

Deadly tornadoes killed an estimated 100 people and destroyed a thousand properties, leaving tens of thousands without power. Western Kentucky was especially hard hit. ARDF has trusted partners willing and able to respond to the crisis. You can support them by donating to their Joseph Fund. This fund exists to get funds out quickly to churches and affiliated nonprofits to support the efforts of volunteers responding to the crisis.

If you would like to support this cause, you can either donate through St. John's Parish Church and write Anglican Relief Fund or ARDF on your gift or go to the Anglican Relief Donation Page https://ardf.org/joseph-fund

A Prayer for Western Kentucky

Almighty God, giver of life and restorer of all things; provide the light of your Son Jesus Christ to shine in the midst of darkness for the people of western Kentucky.  Abide with them through clean up, restoration, and rebuilding.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

February 6
O Lord, our heavenly Father, keep your household the Church continually in your true religion, that we who trust in the hope of your heavenly grace may always be defended by your mighty power; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of February, we pray for the nations of Russia and the Ukraine.  Heavenly Father, we pray for Christians in both nations to endure through governmental oppression and societal indifference to the Gospel.  As the nations are on the brink of war, we pray for peace.  May your Spirit preside over your people.
Lord, in your mercy.  Hear our prayer.
