Please consider becoming a subscriber to IrishCycle.com

Many of you will be regular readers of IrishCycle.com - it publishes over seven articles per week covering cycling and related issues, including news and high-quality analysis on cycle route design. Being independent means that it needs to pull no punches in calling out poor provision or poor behaviour. The service is provided free of charge, but it needs subscribers to keep it going. It deserves the support of the cycling community so we would encourage all our members and supporters to consider subscribing or making a contribution.

Over the last year, Cyclist.ie has been steadily reorganising itself and we have arrived with a brand new structure of nine Action Groups covering the breadth of our work. This structure allows our members to get involved in the areas of campaigning which excite them the most. The groups are as follows:
1 – Finance, Funding, Alliances & Membership
2 – Tools and member support
3 – Communications
4 – Organisation Governance & Strategy Oversight
5 – Engagement with Politicians
6 – Engagement with Officials
7 – Consultations
8 – Research, Road Safety & Sustainable Mobility
9 – The Rural Collective
Please contact Damien if you would like to help out in any of the above spheres. There is a little job for everyone!

In other news, Cyclist.ie has delivered several important submissions over the last month including ones on the Strategic Rail Review and the GDA Transport Strategy.

Plenty of great new stories on the ECF website!

On 28 December 2021, the French parliament adopted a decree which stipulates that car manufacturers must include sustainable-mobility messaging displayed prominently in car ads.

ECF has released a new report, "The state of national cycling strategies in Europe (2021)," which provides an overview of national cycling strategies in 47 European countries as of December 2021.

Plus ECF’s take on Ireland’s plans “for another milestone year for cycling”.
