겨울 방학을 건강하게 잘 보내셨는지요? 이번 토요일 드디어 봄학기를 시작합니다. 이번 학기도 우리 모두 자기 자신과 친구들을 보호하기 위해 방역 수칙을 열심히 잘 지켜서 건강하고 안전한 한 학기가 되도록 해보아요.

Have you had a good time during your winter break? The spring semester finally begins this Saturday. Let's make this semester a healthy and safe one by carefully following these rules to protect ourselves, our family, and our friends.
2월 1일은 설날이었습니다. 설날 아침에는 몸을 깨끗이 하고, 아이들은 설빔으로 차려 입고 차례를 지냅니다. 설날 아침에 제일 먼저 차례를 지내는 뜻은 새해를 맞이 하여 조상에게 인사를 드리고 은혜에 감사하기 위해서이며, 자손들은 장손의 집에 모두 모여 함께 차례를 지냅니다. 차례를 지낸 후에는 떡국을 먹고, 아이들은 어른들에게 세배를 합니다. 아이들은 “새해 복 많이 받으세요”라고 인사를 하고, 어른들은 덕담과 함께 떡이나 세배돈을 아이들에게 주십니다.
설날 오후가 되면 연날리기, 널뛰기, 윷놀이 등의 민속 놀이가 시작됩니다.
February 1st was Lunar New Year's Day. On the morning of New Year's Day, all family members dress in their sulbim, new clothes for the new year, and gather for an ancestral ceremony at the eldest son’s house. The first thing we do on the morning of New Year's Day is to greet our ancestors and thank them for their grace. The ancestral ritual is called 차례, charae.
After 차례 they sit around the table and eat dduk guk, rice cake soup, and the children give a sebae (New Year’s big bow), saying “Happy New Year,” and the elders give them rice cakes or new year’s money with good wishes.
In the afternoon of the Lunar New Year, folk games such as kite flying, neolttwigi, and yut play begin.
