'Taalkalender' shortlisted for LOT Popularisation Prize 

'Meer dan woorden alleen: Taalkalender 2021' by Alla Peeters-Podgaevskaja & Petra Sleeman (ACLC) has been shortlisted for the 2021 LOT LOT Popularisation Prize. The winner will be announced during the Taalgala on 4 February 2022.

Ulrika Klomp shortlisted for AVT/Anéla Dissertation Award

Ulrika Klomp is one of three finalists for the AVT/Anéla Dissertation Award for her dissertation 'A descriptive grammar of Sign Language of the Netherlands'. The winner will be announced during the Taalgala on 4 February 2022.

Podcast Atlas Linguae: Interview with Federico Gobbo 

Federico Gobbo was interviewed for the brandly new podcast Atlas Linguae. He was the first guest in the first episode, along with Lori Levin, professor of Computational Linguistics, Carnegie Mellon University, and Paul Malmquist, Director of Business Development, Sourcenext.

Beyza Sumer launches ELANport 

ACLC member Beyza Sumer has developed a digital platform with training videos on how to use ELAN. ELAN is a Multimedia Annotator tool which can be used to analyse sign language data. ELANport aims at providing basic training on ELAN in a web-based platform, which is accessible to sign language researchers from different parts of the world.

Word lid van de AVT!

De AVT brengt al 70 jaar taalwetenschappers in Nederland samen. Leden van de AVT ontvangen Linguistics in the Netherlands en mogen presenteren op de Grote Taaldag, hét ontmoetingspunt voor taalwetenschappelijk Nederland. Voor jonge taalkundigen is lidmaatschap van de AVT leuk en nuttig, omdat ze laagdrempelig kunnen presenteren en makkelijk meer contact krijgen met hun collega’s aan andere Nederlandse universiteiten.
Wist je dat het met name voor promovendi erg aantrekkelijk is om in LIN te publiceren? De artikelen worden nog hetzelfde jaar gepubliceerd! De AVT vertegenwoordigt taalwetenschappelijk Nederland in het Comité International Permanent de Linguistes, biedt op aanvraag financiele steun voor workshops, en reikt, samen met zusterverening Anéla, al meer dan 25 jaar de AVT-Anéla Dissertatieprijs voor het beste taalkundige proefschrift uit tijdens de Grote Taaldag.
