Hello from our Founder

I hope that everyone has had a good start to the year and that you managed to have some time to relax and recharge over the holiday period.

2022 is looking to be a big year for us at Her Heart, we have several exciting plans on the horizon and look forward to sharing them with you soon.

Seven years ago I established Her Heart and we celebrate the day on 14th February. Traditionally February is Heart Month so it also provides an excellent reminder to focus on your heart health and book in that all important annual health check-up!

In this issue, we share some great articles around reflecting and learning from the previous year and the benefits of working out during the workday.

Until next month, stay well & safe,

Warmest wishes
Linda

Her Heart Day ❤️

Seven years ago, we set up Her Heart so we ”claim” Valentine’s Day as Her Heart Day. While it’s a day you usually share the love with your partner or friends, we would love it if you could support us and do these 3 things 1. Prioritise yourself and book in for a heart health check 2. Donate to Her Heart - we really do need your support, like many charities it’s been difficult during the Pandemic. You can support us on PayPal, our website or via Australians Investing in Women. 3. Show support on our social media, as engaging with our content boosts awareness.

Annual Review

It's not too late to make time to sit down and reflect on 2021, thinking about our successes, failures, and the lessons learned in the previous year is incredibly important. James Clear, the author behind Atomic Habits, says 'Basically, my Annual Review forces me to look at my actions over the past 12 months and ask, 'Are my choices helping me live the life I want to live?' Check out the article here for a guide on how to complete your own annual review.

Back to Work

Making the time to squeeze in exercise during the workday used to be unheard of, but as we have transitioned into remote and flexible working environments it has proven to be a great way to improve productivity and overall wellbeing. One study revealed that participants noticed a 72% improvement in time management and workload completed on days when they exercised. This year we recommend taking a workout break at lunch or even a few smaller breaks throughout the day, make time to try it!

Reminder 📝

When was the last time you had a health check-up?  As February is all about heart health this is your gentle reminder to prioritise you!
1. Pick a date & set a reminder on your phone
2. If for some reason you can't make space in your diary then set another reminder to book that all important appointment with your GP.
3. Check out the Her Heart website and download a free copy of our Heart Health Checklist today.
