The deadline for members to renew their garden memberships and plots for those wishing to keep their same plot from last season is 28 February, 2022

Time to think about seeds!
If you are thinking about getting some seedlings started early to maximize your growing season now is the time to get those seeds!! The COVID-19 pandemic made seeds a hot commodity last year creating long waits and shipping delays for those ordering on-line and many local shops sold out very quickly.
Many local shops in Yellowknife are already stocked with seeds.
You can contact your favorite garden centre to confirm hours and any shopping restrictions in advance.
The JH Sissons Parent Advisory Committee is excited to announce the return of the West Coast Seeds Fundraiser! 40% of sale proceeds will go to the PAC which supports a variety of activities and events throughout the school year. There is a large selection of flower, vegetable, and herb seeds to choose from. The fundraiser is open now until Feb 26 2022, please order from https://fundraising.westcoastseeds.com/(ensure you are using the West Coast Seeds Fundraising webpage). All orders will be delivered to the organizer after Feb 26 and distributed once received; local Yellowknife orders only please. Tell your friends, co-workers, family and anyone you know who may be interested. The PAC thanks you for your support!
All you do is order through the website, select JH Sissons, and the order will be sent to Sissions PAC after Feb 26 and they will then distribute within YK.

Garden Projects for 2022
The expansion of the Niven site was unfortunately delayed AGAIN last year due to wood being unavailable for the duration of our short garden season. With any luck, this project will be successfully moving ahead this season.
If you have ideas for a garden project at your site be sure to share your ideas with your site manager to ensure that we can plan for your project and recruit the required volunteers.

Don't Forget to Follow Us on Social Media
During the 2020 Garden Season the board created a new board position for social media and web content. This helped us to have a more visible presence in our community and to our membership during a year when we couldn't always be together. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and on our Facebook page.
