Saturday, February 5th from 10:00AM - 12:00PM
“An Invitation to Explore”
Mindful Movement is meant to spark present moment awareness, joy and authentic connection to self and community. The event occurs twice monthly with DAAC Partner Whitney Pyles & Gaia Cafe - Vegetarian Restaurant
This week's event is a collaboration with In Your Element/Katie Venechuk.
"We will be bringing the outside, in and exploring our inner nature through:
- Sensory awareness meditation
- Stretches and yoga to create space and to expand
- Mirrored movement and guided dance to break down judgement
- Intuitive invitations and cues to ask the body what it needs and how it wants to move in the present moment"

|
Can't make it this weekend? Don't worry, Mindful Movement is hosted at The DAAC every other Saturday, 10:00PM - 12:00PM.

New Art Exhibition: 'Every Rock Has A Story'
|
|
Opening Reception Sunday, February 6th from 4:00PM - 9:00PM
Closing Reception Sunday, February 20th from 4:00PM - 7:00PM
'Every Rock Has A Story' is a collection of narrative ceramics containing colorful, textured, and functional pieces that explore the ritual of cooking, continuous making, queerness, play, and learning through storytelling. Huong Ngyuyễn found a lot of inspiration from Thich Nhat Hanh’s “The Dragon Prince” ~ a short, yet illustrious, collection of 15 Vietnamese folktales. As well as Japanese ceramic artist akio takamori’s ‘Mountains’ (2015) and all the cartoons Huong Ngyuyễn watched while working on these pieces. There will be a mix sculpture, thrown vessels, and digital illustrations.
