In October I started Tileyard's Songwriting and Commercial Music Production Masters and it's been bloody brilliant this far. It's sad to realise I'm already half-way through, and I really wish it lasted two years rather than one. I've met amazing tutors, amazing peers, used state of the art equipment, been inspired by leaders in their genres etc and it's not even over yet. We're hoping for a little trip somewhere in Europe for our 3rd term songwriting camp so that is hugely exciting!
The first thing they told us is "get a tiktok account". Everyone groaned. But the hardiest of us did it anyway, so you can find me on there if you fancy! (I actually really enjoy scrolling through it 😄)
Le Présent
Today is BANDCAMP FRIDAY! This means every purchase made on the platform goes to me directly rather than being sucked dry by greedy music executives. There is high quality music files as well as a range of merch based on the Tonight was not the one design. I don't expect to make billions in profit with this but hoping they'll become collectors' items over the next decades :p
Right now what is happening is that my favourite producers from Tileyard are busy remixing J'veux des frissons into an actually danceable club track! The result should be 3 to 4 amazing tracks - all based on the same song but with vastly different sounds and feels. Hopefully I'll be able to release this by the next time I write to you :)
I've been scoping out locations for my next photoshoot. I reckon this one is the winner!
Le Futur
The future is bright and full of shiny, exciting textures and movements but I'd be hard-pressed to describe them in detail as I myself don't know where to start. So for now I thought I'd concentrate on getting as much out of the course as possible and we can talk about what comes next in July.
Only brilliant things I'm sure!
If you enjoy what I do and want to support me, please consider donating a few pounds/dollars/euros/yen to me through my Ko-fi page! None of it will go towards actual coffee, but towards singer/songwriter/producer equipment and opportunities!
If you've made it this far... Thanks for reading! Please make sure you follow me on Facebook or Instagram too (links are the icons below). And hopefully I'll have lots of good news to share with you again very soon.
