Registrar Updates

Processing Incomplete Grades (INCs)

As per Policy 46, students enrolled in a course for which the prerequisite has an outstanding incomplete (INC) grade will be dropped from the course in which the prerequisite requirement is not met on Monday, January 31, 2022. The Registrar’s Office will inform students once the courses have been dropped. (See Policy 46, Procedures, Section 3.8 on page 19 for complete details.)

Students must resolve outstanding INC grades assigned in the Fall 2021 term by the three-month deadline. All unresolved INCs will lapse to F grades on April 15, 2022.

Tests and Exams

  • Students will receive a communication regarding mid-term exams and campus locations, approximately February 14, 2022. The exams website will be updated shortly.
  • If your instructors have on-campus mid-term exams, you may need to hire invigilators. See the invigilator job posting template.
  • The On-Campus Exam Guide for Professors and Invigilators has been updated on pages 3-4 to reflect procedures during COVID-19. Feel free to distribute the guide to your invigilators with on-campus exams. See all exam information for Faculty.
  • It is recommended that professors and invigilators wear face shields, available through your department. See the exam guide page 3 for details.
  • If someone reports a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19, see Reporting Cases on Campus.

Test Centre for Accommodated Exams

The in-person Test Centre will re-open shortly for in-person tests and exams for students registered with Academic Accommodations Support (AAS); students and faculty will receive a communication directly.  The Test Centre is currently supporting remote assessments and will continue this service for the remainder of the Winter 2022 semester.

For in-person accommodated tests/exams, students must be registered with AAS and enrolled in a fully in-person course, which has a scheduled in-person quiz, test, or midterm for the entire class. For remote accommodated exams, The Test Centre team is available to support Faculty with Special Access requests in D2L.

See details at the Academic Accommodation Website.

Make-Up Tests

The Make-Up Test Centre will begin supporting you with the administration of in-person tests and exams on February 26, 2022. The Make-Up Test Centre is currently supporting remote make-up tests and exams and will continue to offer this service through the Winter 2022 semester. For more details see Make Up Test Centre Website or contact makeuptestctr@ryerson.ca.

Missed Tests and Exams

See the Student Guide and Academic Consideration - Policy 167.
Note Academic Consideration for Winter 2022 due to Covid-19: "Students who miss an assessment due to cold or flu-like symptoms, or due to self-isolation, are currently not required to provide a health certificate". Other absences must follow Section 5 of Senate Policy 167 on Academic Consideration.

Covid-Related Referrals to Academic Accommodation Support

AAS has provided a guide to assist when making referrals to AAS for students who have COVID-related impacts. Only a couple of possible student issues are appropriate to refer to AAS. The majority are best addressed by academic advisors or academic consideration requests (ACRs).
