Catholic Schools Week is January 30 through February 5. Here are a few highlights of events that will take place that week.
-We will begin the week by joining the St. Joseph Parish for Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 30. We would like to see many SJS students, families and alumni at that Mass.
-After Mass, the Knights of Columbus are hosting a Pancake Breakfast in the parish hall. All are welcome to go downstairs after Mass and enjoy a delicious breakfast and some great fellowship.
-Throughout the week the students of St. Joseph School will be raising funds and collecting items to be donated to the Pregnancy Help Center of Rice Lake. Our 8th grade students are leading that effort.
-On Wednesday, the St. Joseph School Spirituality committee, with the help of the parish religious ed program and some SJS grads, will provide the students with a Praise and Worship event which will include music, testimonials, and adoration of the Blessed Eucharist. The program for grades K-4 will be at 1:00 p.m. and the program for grades 5-8 will be at 1:45 p.m. Parents are welcome to join us.
-On Thursday February 3 at 6 p.m., SJS will host a preview night and open house for Preschool (3K, 4K) and Kindergarten families.
-Also on that evening, the Knights of Columbus will host their Free Throw Contest for students age 9-14 at 6:00 p.m. Info is included in the Thursday folders
-On Friday February 4 at 9:30 a.m., SJS students and staff will attend Mass at St. Joseph Church. This Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Jim Powers of the Diocese of Superior. SJS alumni, parents and grandparents are welcome to join us for Mass. After Mass, we will welcome the adults who join us for Mass to an informal reception with coffee and cookies in the parish hall.
-The 2022-23 SJS School Calendar is included below. Please use it when planning vacations, especially if your child is in middle school.
Thank you for your continued support of St. Joseph School.

Parents, Alumni, Grandparents, Friends! You’re invited to the first-ever “On Fire for Jesus” event! Our Spirituality Committee of SJS parents is “on fire” for Jesus and we are excited to bring our students this fun celebration during Catholic Schools Week. Students will hear faith-based testimonies from alumni, listen to praise and worship music (also by our alumni) and spend a few minutes in adoration with Jesus. Students will see and learn how adoration works and the importance of it in the Catholic faith. All are welcome to join us!
