The (402) Month in Review:
Friendly Weather = Friendly Rides!

BikeLNK began the year with one of its busiest Januarys to date! You took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and started your weeks off right with Monday bike rides!

Overall, January rides increased nearly 75% versus last year, and we couldn't be more thrilled to kick off 2022 seeing so many travel Lincoln by bike.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, give the incredible gift of a
BikeLNK Aluminum Access or Monthly Membership. Whether for yourself or a loved one, bike share promotes wellness, clean air, and access to the best our city has to offer. As far as gifts go, there's nothing better than unlimited 60-minute bike rides!

Let's make February another great month of riding!

BikeLNK joins Lincoln in celebration of
Black History Month

February also brings the start to Black History Month. This is a great time for learning and honoring, and events across Lincoln are taking place to celebrate. BikeLNK can help get you everywhere you want to go.

The
Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln hosts events and resources throughout February to engage the public, while Lincoln has a month full of enriching events taking place across the city. Find them all through the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Downtown Lincoln Association. And to keep you busy between rides, our friends at Lincoln City Libraries have an extensive booklist to explore!
New Home for BikeLNK HQ!

New location, same passion for getting Lincoln on bikes!

BikeLNK Headquarters has moved! We're excited to announce our new address at 245 N. 3rd Street. Though we just relocated last week, it's already starting to feel like home.

The new location conveniently puts us next to our downtown and Haymarket kiosks, allowing us to maintain responsive service to our bikes to keep you up and riding.

Stay tuned to our channels for future opportunities to visit our new space!

For 2022 - think street safety, think BikeLNK

Was safer biking on your list of New Year's resolutions? It's never too late to begin or rededicate yourself to safe biking habits on Lincoln's streets! BikeLNK is here to connect you to great resources for a full year of fun and safe bike rides.

For safe biking in traffic, a few tips to remember:
  • Prior to riding, inspect your bike. Check the tires are inflated, and ensure the seat is adjusted to the proper height and locked into place. Each BikeLNK seat post has handy numbers to help you find the perfect fit every time, as well as front and rear lights so you're seen.
  • Before entering the roadway stop and look for traffic. An extra look to your left and right could make all the difference!
  • Bike predictably. Following traffic laws is not just essential to help bicycles and cars share the road, it's Nebraska law.
  • And when riding with your BikeLNK friends: ride single-file in the direction of traffic, use hand signals when turning, and take extra care at intersections.

Municipal Code prohibits riding bicycles on the sidewalks in downtown Lincoln
The health of our riders and our community is a top priority of the BikeLNK team. We want to enable you to have access to safe socially distanced transportation and recreation with our bike share bikes.

BikeLNK has been taking precautions against COVID-19 transmission with increased sanitation efforts by our staff and have been keeping an eye on all local health measures.
As a rider, there are a few things you can do to help make sure you have a healthy ride. We highly suggest using disinfecting wipes on high-touch areas on the bikes and kiosks, like the handlebars, just like you would any public surface. Make sure to maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and others while riding. We also suggest wearing a mask if you have not been vaccinated or cannot maintain 6ft of social distancing between yourself and others.
