Inland Recycling Indicted

Inland Recycling, the oil and gas recycler accused of contaminating a Colorado River tributary in 2019, and its president were indicted by a Travis County grand jury on Jan. 25, 2022, on charges of allowing the release of a pollutant into Skull Creek, according to the Travis County District Attorney’s office.

Following the indictments of Inland Recycling and its president, David Polston, a court date has been set for Feb. 9.

Inland Recycling held the wastewater discharge permit at the time of the alleged violations and is a sister company of Inland Environmental and Remediation.

On Jan. 6, 2022, a temporary injunction against the Inland companies and Polston was upheld by the Texas Court of Appeals, Third District. The ruling denied appeals by Polston and the Inland companies of a modified temporary injunction issued in January 2020, according to Robin Morse, lead attorney for Colorado County in the litigation.
