New Features And Improvements
MEDIA MANAGEMENT
Media Library
We have streamlined the former Video Association - and other media asset upload - processes significantly with the introduction of the new Media Library section.
Users whose awards opened for submission in Q4 2021 will have already benefitted from using Media Library already, but for those who haven't yet it's benefits include:
FOR ENTRANTS:
A secure location for all their media assets (videos, images, documents, audio files) to which they only need to upload their content once, for repeated use across unlimited entries
Ability to upload their media DIRECT to their entry form - mid-submission - without having to close it
Convenience of using optional Placeholders if their required media is not available at the time of initial submission (an option which can be controlled and/or prevented by Admins)
FOR ADMINS:
A streamlining of the several previous asset question types into ONE new question type: MEDIA LIBRARY ITEM
An easy-reference thumbnail access to all entrants' assets, when using LoginAs
Ability to allow multiple media asset types to answer the same question ie. if you have asked for Case Study, you could allow this to be provided as either a video, image, document or audio file. Or limit it to just some, or one of those.

CUSTOMISED VIDEO ASSET SPECS
It is now possible to restrict the specifications (resolution size, file type and more) of the video assets you will accept for your Media Library Items questions to you own custom requirements.
This functionality is available on request only, to find out more please contact us to discuss the exact specs you require.
The new Automatic Discounts functionality now enables both of these options to be arranged in advance in the Awards set-up page. For details on how to use this, please read this Help article.
LOGO OVERRIDE FOR PAYMENT PAPERWORK
Your company logo that appears on all of your invoices, credit notes and receipts is set by default as the one you provide us with when we set up your Nucleus instance.
However, we appreciate that some awards may want to use specific emails for different awards eg. for your 2022 Awards you may have had a customised 2022 logo produced.
You can now use these, or a per award basis, in the new Logo Override setting that appears in the Payment Paperwork section of your main Awards set-up page.

NB: You will also notice that we have tidied up the Payment Paperwork section up generally, by ordering the different Header and Footer options chronlogically and under sub-headers.
ENTRY MANAGEMENT
TRANSFER ENTRY OWNERSHIP FROM A NOMINATOR TO A NOMINEE
For awards that, in the first instance, only accept submissions from third party Nominators you can now transfer the ownership of that Nomination to the Nominee themselves upon progression to a later stage.
This is very useful if your later stage requires you to gather more information that only the Nominee themselves will be able to provide. Previously, the Admin would have had to gather this information and add it to the form themselves.
This option is currently available on a request only, as it requires some customised configuration to your instance.

ENTRANT MANAGEMENT
ENTRANT Ts & Cs DISCLAIMER LINK ON SIGN-UP
A new item of CMS has been added, enabling you to include a link to an external disclaimer that new users must read and consent to before completing registration.
You can customise this, using the link to your required Ts & Cs resource, as follows:
-Actions > Misc
-CMS
-Type 'entrant sign up ts & cs link' in the label field and click Edit
-Type your required text in the Content field
-Save and Close
LIMIT THE HISTORIC ENTRIES ON YOUR ENTRANTS' DASHBOARDS
If you have prolific entrants and/or run multiple annual awards, your entrants' dashboards may become cluttered with historic entries over time. This can be inconvenient to them if they are simpy looking for a currently open or unsubmitted entry to complete.
To promote a de-cluttered Dashboard for them, there is a new setting that enables you to set a maximum timeframe which entries for each award will be displayed for on an Entrant’s dashboard.
CONTROL THE USER TYPES - Admin Only, Normal Only or Both
There are two distinct types of front end User on your Nucleus instance. These are:
Admin Users - Who can create entries, add/delete fellow users to their account and also edit the entries and contact details of their colleagues.
Normal Users - Who can create new entries of their own, but cannot edit those of their colleagues. Likewise, they cannot edit the details of their colleagues or delete them.
You now have access to a Configuration setting where you can specify what types of User you will allow - Admin, Normal or Both. The default setting is Both.
To adjust this at any time:
- Go to Actions > Misc
- Configuration Values
- Click Edit alongside Allow Entrant Types
- In the Value field, type Admin, Normal or Both as you require
- Save and Close
RESTRICT THE NUMBER OF USERS PER ORGANISATION
You now have the option to restrict the number of Users per Organisation. You may find this helpful if your entrant Organisations have numerous users - many of whom only access the platform for one-off entries - and could benefit from centralising all entries under the jurisdiction of one or two key Users.
By default, this is set to 0 - meaning that there is no limit. But if you would like to apply a limit, you can do so by going to:
- Actions > Misc
- Configuration Values
- Find Max Users Per Organisation and click Edit
- Type the maximum number of users in the Value field
- Save and Close
VIEWER MANAGEMENT
'SELECT ALL' CATEGORIES OPTION FOR VIEWER ASSIGN TOOL
We have refined the Viewer Assign tool which was rolled out in 2021 for the purposes of assigning additional categories to existing Viewer accounts.
There is now a Select All option, which enables you to assign ALL categories for an award to your viewer. Previously, you had to manually check each box one by one in order to select all of them.
To use:
- Go to Actions > Viewers
- Check the box/es alongside the Viewer/s you want to assign to, and click Assign
- Select the Award from the dropdown, and then click Select All
- Save and Close
BULK EMAIL FUNCTIONALITY
IMPROVED TEMPLATE FILTERING ON EMAIL LOG/QUEUE
We have enhanced template filtering options on the Email Log/Queue, to enable you to home in on the email/s you are looking for among the high voiume that may have been sent.
1. The main Template filter is now limited to those templates that have been used in the Past 30 days - as these are the templates that you are most likely to want to check at any given time. This makes the options available easier to scan and select from.
2. A free text field titled Name has been added alongside this, where you can type the start of the template you require and hit enter for it to filter for templates used which match those words. This option is useful in the event that the template you are looking for might not have been used in the Past 30 days.

We take the ongoing security of Nucleus very seriously, and are constantly adjusting and upgrading our security features to deal with new and emerging threats.

With the increasing number of operating systems, browsers and their extenuatuing versions across the digital landscape, its important to keep a tab on compatability. As a valued customer of BAFTA Media Tech (BMT), please be assured that we strive to keep in step with such developments to ensure continued and equal access to Nucleus for all of your entrants and users.
In the unusual instance that a user informs you they are unable to use the platform, you should then check whether their system or browser complies with this list and advise them to update where necessary.
